My DD15 (year 11 so not even any school work) has been so bored she has completely tidied her room. Some lovely soap and glory smellies have been found that were a birthday present last year and best of all she doesn't like them so I get to use them

HollyBollyBooBoo · 30/03/2020 18:44

Waitrose grapefruit bubble bath is the best plus it's about 95p!

dementedma · 30/03/2020 18:47

Lots of little bottles of smellies from hotels now being used up. Once empty i fill the bottles with sweet almond oil and drops of essential oil - tea tree and eucalyptus for sanitising, lavender and rose for soothing. Helps my dried out hands

StarintheMorning · 30/03/2020 18:48

I’m glad I keep a somewhat messy car. Two small bottles of sanitizer, both hardly used. Two packs of anti-bac floor wipes, both unopened. One half bag of assorted toffees. And a favourite mascara that I was about to replace as I thought I had lost it, and couldn’t when full lockdown came in.
Unfortunately no mid brown hair colour, the days of waltzing of to the hairdresser for roots to be done seem but a distant memory already, and not a box of hair colourant left anywhere in the UK!

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 30/03/2020 18:49

I had a grapefruit face cleanser and spot treatment/moisturiser from a grapefruit range. It was the best ever for my skin. The smell brings back memories of my teens.

WhatTiggersDoBest · 30/03/2020 18:51

Haha I was thinking the same about this grapefruit body wash I got in a gift set when I was using it last night LMAO. I've nothing against grapefruit, just never thought I'd willingly smell like one!! Grin

AiryFairyMum · 30/03/2020 18:59

Me too - loving getting through all this stuff. Good job really, as I'm self employed and have lost all my income for the foreseeable!

Ha, thanks for that. You just reminded me that we have some in the boot from when my ds vomited in the car!

CanICelebrate · 30/03/2020 19:01

Loads of crayons, coloured paper and some mini white boards!

MoonBlood · 30/03/2020 19:01

I’ve got a ton of little sachets and tubes and bottles of various things that I’ve had from bounty bags and other baby stuff from a subscription box I was gifted during my current pregnancy and my last one (3 years ago!) Ive a tendency to shove them in the bathroom cupboard and forget to use them, so had a bumper haul when I cleaned it out the other day.

Some moisturising cream and oil, hot oil for my hair, face cream and body wash etc. I had a good ‘pamper’ session on the weekend and have a nice selection of thin to choose from when I shower. I’ve put them all in a little basket I had some wax melts in at Christmas so they look quite nice too!

LuckyLuckyWoman · 30/03/2020 19:01

I have a wrapped Christmas present for a friend I have yet to see. I think it's some handwash/handcream set that she asked for! Will be opening it if I run out.

CanICelebrate · 30/03/2020 19:02

Also dug out loads of dusty and previously unused jigsaw puzzles that are now one of the highlights of my youngest dc’s afternoons Grin

sausagepastapot · 30/03/2020 19:07

I have a stash of pocket bacs from Bath and Body Works that I had been saving. Also had bunch of stashed hand creams which have helped with the cracked hands.

I too am a hoarder of husbands hotel shampoo and washes

I also have a penchant for scented handwash from TKMaxx so we are well over stocked for hand wash here

beargrass · 30/03/2020 19:08

Glad we didn't chuck old toys in the loft. Mostly things that were hanging about and had lost their attraction, but have found a new lease of life!

I also quickly hid gifts that make a right mess (sand, for example Angry) and if the weather turns, I can get those out for the garden.

Have found a load of tampons in various bags too!

ClientQueen · 30/03/2020 19:08

I'm forever buying hand wash and soap in TK maxx. My dad said he never thought he would be grateful for my beauty hoard Grin

Chottie · 30/03/2020 19:09

@CanICelebrate
I'm currently doing a jigsaw of Valletta in Malta which I reckon is 50 years old. :)

This thread has inspired me to look through my cupboards. I found a 3 pack of Dove soap and lots of hand cream.

ComeOnEileen11 · 30/03/2020 19:10

Moisturiser in general! I did donate a load but kept some back thinking they'd last forever 😄 glad of it now as my skin is like paper.

JellyfishandShells · 30/03/2020 19:11

I won a raffle prize of a large selection of very upmarket skincare ( I mean silly prices) which I was wondering how to rehome . Taking the opportunity to try various things out in myself at a time when it wouldn’t be such a problem if I had a bit of a reaction. DH keeps asking me why I am shiny !

Pickles89 · 30/03/2020 19:11

Soup. I've been working my way through tins that expired 2 or 3 years ago. I really hope I don't get food poisoning!!

sugarlost · 30/03/2020 19:13

OP I think we had the same set...mine is Bayliss....was thinking the same thing! The hand soap is pricelessGrin

SharonasCorona · 30/03/2020 19:14

But they are too pretty to use! I still have soap from 2007 that is too prettily packaged to open Blush

TuscanGreen · 30/03/2020 19:18

I am glad I saved those hand santisers which I bought for a camping trip :-)

Melroses · 30/03/2020 19:20

I put all the smelly hand cream out in the downstairs cloakroom for the men in my life, so that they don't get dry hands with all the handwashing Grin

Chattercino · 30/03/2020 19:23

I raided the tombola bag, too. Usually don't use hand cream but I was soooo pleased to see that I had some in the bag- my hands are so sore!

MayTheGodsBeEverInYourFavour · 30/03/2020 19:23

2 bags of risi (tiny rice - shaped pasta). Several years out of date. Blush
My TK Maxx hand soap obsession is serving us pretty well, as is my tendency to bulk-buy stuff, especially to make up an online shop to the minimum spend. (We don't have a car.) Washing powder, & large bags of pasta & rice were usually my go-to candidates, very helpful right now.

@Pickles89 - apparently with tins, as long as it's not bulging & doesn't hiss with escaping air when you open them, they're ok. Dents in tins aren't ideal but TBH we buy plenty of dented tins of they are reduced, & just use them up quickly.
