I found half a bottle of milton and 1/4 of a large bottle of hand sanitizer at the back of the cupboard - jackpot!

EmmiJay · 30/03/2020 18:02

Not from a charity shop but twice earlier this yr I picked up big bags of pasta from Sainsburys forgetting I had one at home. Now its like gold dust, I'm happy😁

SharonasCorona · 30/03/2020 18:02

We've found a box of Pearl hand soap bars in the attic.

I now much prefer hand soap to hand wash.

I can do my Dr Benton/ER style hand scrubbing much better with handsoap for some reason.

PhantomErik · 30/03/2020 18:08

Glad we didn't get round to donating our 3 man tent to the charity shop as the DC have played with it in the garden for the last 3 days. It's become their new den!

stickerqueen · 30/03/2020 18:11

I got loads of sanctuary bath products for Xmas that I was going to take to the charity shop glad I didn't now.
2 lotions
2 body scrubs
2 foot lotions
3 face packs
5 bath bombs
penis pasta from 2015 found in the cupboard - didn't feed it to the kids though dd would know what it is

RibenaMonsoon · 30/03/2020 18:13

Some baylis and harding stuff from Christmas. I tend to stock up on the Christmas scent zoflora at Christmas as they are my favourite scents. Luckily still have some left.

Guiltypleasures001 · 30/03/2020 18:16

I ordered 4 large body shop white musk shower gels, week before lockdown as I can't use anything else without risking cystitis Confused

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 30/03/2020 18:17

I must have had a frenzy of buying antibac products at one time which I have now found at the back of the cupboard under the sink! Wipes and sprays - all unused!!

Seventyone72seventy3 · 30/03/2020 18:17

I ran out of face cream and used nappy cream instead - it actually cleared up my dry forehead really well. Probably best not to mention that my last child came out of nappies seven years ago

Quarantimespringclean · 30/03/2020 18:17

I’ve got nearly half a litre of 70% proof rubbing alcohol. I can’t even remember why I bought it but if any of us come down with it it will be very handy.

itsgettingweird · 30/03/2020 18:20

For the amount of moisturiser I've accumulated!

SharonasCorona · 30/03/2020 18:21

@Quarantimespringclean

Have you seen The Horseman on the Roof?

Juliet Binoche gets cholera after being in quarantine and Olivier Martinez has to rub alcohol all over her body. Lucky cow.

Grandmi · 30/03/2020 18:22

5 small bottles of hand sanitiser from various rucksacks ...husband and son are climbers and always take it with them to far flung places!

MorganKitten · 30/03/2020 18:25

I ran out of face cream and used nappy cream instead - it actually cleared up my dry forehead really well.

Nappy cream is great for after waxing or shaving btw!

ScrambledSmegs · 30/03/2020 18:26

I'm glad we didn't get rid of the fruit patch last year (our home's previous owners were clearly much better gardeners than we are). We've had enough rhubarb so far for us and friends/family/neighbours, and that's only the early plants.

It's inspired me to actually have a go at doing it properly.

sweetgingercat · 30/03/2020 18:26

Yes, hundreds of little packets of hotel soaps that I couldn't throw out, now all coming in handy!

caperplips · 30/03/2020 18:27

I'm very glad I found old travel sized hand sanitizers in our travel wash bags!

I have regretted doing a big clear out of my casual wardrobe as now I'm working from home and don't need to wear work clothes but have a bit of a lack for decent casual stuff I can wear for zoom meetings etc I had been intending to stock up this spring.

Sgtmajormummy · 30/03/2020 18:27

I’ve got dry hands from all the extra washing.
First I used up all my mini tubes from the Occitane Advent calendar that I normally take on holiday in April (not happening).
Then I found a dinky (6cm diameter) tin of Blue Nivea cream.
Does a much better job!

Wannabangbang · 30/03/2020 18:29

I made soaps at Christmas and was so elated to find that I'd kept some. Its amazing what pleases me lately and what i took for granted

Scruffyoak · 30/03/2020 18:33

All my clinel wipes and dettol.

MashedSpud · 30/03/2020 18:35

I made some soap and gave some to family (a tradition now, the Xmas before that was candles) and have half a tub left which will come in handy if we run out of other soap.

MaybeKatie · 30/03/2020 18:35

I'm glad I didn't chuck out the out of date self raising flour. I didn't feel guilty using it up (since flour is a staple!) to make play-dough with the boys as a 'homeschooling' activity yesterday.

caperplips · 30/03/2020 18:38

Oh yes! The fast acting yeast that was out of date since Oct 19 and we used it the other night for pizza and it was perfect , the best part is we have a whole box of the 7g little sachets so can make loads more pizzas!!

MrsGrindah · 30/03/2020 18:38

Great thread! I found some hair milk that someone gave me for Christmas.Normally would never entertain such stuff but my hair is in a desperate state so I used it and it’s definitely better! Also from my present stash
Soap..never use it but will do
Hand and body cream.drying up like a prune here
Books...soooo many to read if I ever get off Mumsnet
Wine..people bought us lots of wine...ha ha

maggiso · 30/03/2020 18:42

We bought several plants and seeds at the end of autumn in a nursery closing down sale. Now I’m glad of them to plant up. At the time I thought it might be foolish!
I also am glad of the bottles of shower gel ( I can use them instead of so as we have almost run out) and I bought a laundry egg instead of the usual Persia tabs- ( trying to be greener) but now I am glad of it as The egg should keep our Landry pile under control without going out to buy more!
