Mine is sage and onion stuffing - oh my lord! Anyone else care for a bit of lighthearted divulging? Better out than in, after all!

Onions of any kind but so much worse with dried onions.

Dates

Even more especially, Marston's Pedigree.

Oh yes, this too. It's worth it though, beautiful ale.

Steak. Every time. I love it, but oh my god. I call it 'protein farts'. Hot, painful and they stink. Stomach hurts for hours afterwards. But still I love steak.

Another vote here for Jerusalem artichokes.

All other foods create gentle breezes, JAs result in Hurricane Katrina.

Grow them, give them to your friends: a good practical joke.

Sweet potato

penguingorl · 30/03/2020 07:37

Chilli and cucumber are the worst culprits. Proper churning in whole torso until the relief of a good parp, or 10! Onions and leeks too, but only if undercooked. Good excuse to saute the shit out of them in butter, yum!

Wow, I never had any idea that this thread would take off so much - I guess we are all in need of a good laugh Grin I've been reading through and shaking in silence (DP is asleep still), thanks all!

I meant to mention Indian takeaway as another of mine. I guess it's the richness of it? Anyway, my farts actually smell of curry all night long and into the morning and DP hates it so much, but we still cave and order a takeaway the next time, ha ha.

I remember the time we had Jerusalem artichokes in a veg box. The accompanying info said they could give you wind but would be OK if thoroughly boiled. So I decided to make soup with them, and very nice it was too.

The trouble was that the boiling thing turned out to be a pack of lies. Fortunately both DH and I had the soup, so we were equally affected and we basically spent the afternoon with the windows wide open farting for England. Never again.

applesandpears33 · 30/03/2020 08:37

Fried leeks. Never again.

myidentitymycrisis · 30/03/2020 08:52

Just about everything I eat unfortunately. But it’s all stuff I love and eat regularly.

Quinoa, cous cous anc oh my god those sugar replacements they put into food. Inulin/chicory root and yacon syrup. Shocking.

WeeMadArthur · 30/03/2020 09:25

I’m not usually cursed by wind, but one night I had dinner at a friends and they served Mediterranean roasted vegetables. I don’t know what they put on them but I farted all night. Uckily they smelled exactly the same on the way out as they did on the way in, but I will still never eat them again.

WeeMadArthur · 30/03/2020 09:26

I meant *luckily, but uckily is quite apt too!

ArbitraryNameChange · 30/03/2020 10:52

I haven't eaten pea and ham soup since The Incident In Jersey in 1982.

I was 9 and thought I was going to need hospital I was in so much pain (disclaimer: I never had wind like it, before or since. Bastard soup)

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 30/03/2020 10:52
