Is it jealousy? The daily teacher bashing threads on here are ridiculous.

Do you blame us for schools closing?

Bulb1976 · 31/03/2020 17:03

It seriously is not “the most difficult job in the world”. It’s this sort of thing that gets people’s backs up.

EmmaBridgewater20 · 31/03/2020 17:09

OP you are embaressing, seriously embarrassing. I am cringing for you and your outstanding lack of social and self awareness. Please for the love of God fund another profession which makes you happier and means you aren’t subjecting impressionable people to your terrible attitude.

I really suspect any issues you face however are a you problem rather than a teacher problem.

Bulb1976 · 31/03/2020 17:11

I’m just reporting personal attacks right now and I shan’t be responding.

OP posts:
LeMarais · 31/03/2020 17:12

Bloody hell Bulb. The only person coming across bitter and angry is you. Saying you pity Ygritte, suggesting people must look down on her, so fucking patronising.
I’ve been supportive of teachers on this thread as I think they have a tough job and most of them are trying to do their best, as they always have done. I don’t think you’re doing them any favours at all judging by your anger and dismissiveness on here.
If you want the answer to the question you posed as the title of this thread then look in the mirror. Maybe it’s not teachers it’s you.

YgritteSnow · 31/03/2020 17:12

Hope you're reporting your own. There's loads...

LeMarais · 31/03/2020 17:18

I was just about to point that out as well @YgritteSnow, pretty sure the only person making personal attacks/ insults was Bulb.

YgritteSnow · 31/03/2020 17:18

Thanks @LeMarais. I do appreciate you saying that. But please be assured I am not at all bothered by @Bulb1976 and her assumptions that I must be angry and bitter. It's pure projection on her part I suspect. I've had it before when I talk about my disabled children and the struggles we've had. The assumption that I must be pulsating with resentment but the truth is I wouldn't change a single thing. I wish my son hadn't gone through the pain and stress he went through and I wish he could have had the education he deserved but that's all. For me I am a stronger person for it and I got to spend the last 9 years almost full time with one of the two nicest, funniest and special people I have ever met, my other child is the other one Grin obviously! People who think I must be bitter say this because they would be and I always know that when they say it so never take it personally Smile

Pomegranatepompom · 31/03/2020 17:20

@YgritteSnow I hope you’re ok - horrible to say things like that about you.

LeMarais · 31/03/2020 17:24

@YgritteSnow, glad to hear it, and I suspect you are quite correct. Making such assumptions does tell you an awful lot about the personhood makes them.
I do hope your son is doing well now, although I suspect that with a mother with your attitude he’s just grand.Smile

YgritteSnow · 31/03/2020 17:31

Thank you @Pomegranatepompom Smile

Oh he's doing great @LeMarais. Mainly because he's actually is a really lovely lad, I know everyone thinks that about their own kids, but he genuinely is. Very laid back and a relaxing presence if you get what I mean by that? He's due to start college in September but again CV means that that is now uncertain, but we shall see.

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 31/03/2020 18:17

Bulb - I understand I really do. But maybe now is the time to stop digging?

Teaching is the most difficult job in the world? Fucking hell I've heard it all now. I’d not say that too loudly in front of the professions that have it far harder.

For what it’s worth we have a teacher in our friend group, we tolerate her because she’s married to one of our closest friends but fucking hell does she never stop complaining and moaning in the group chat. She hates kids too, make of that what you will.

SlipSlidin · 31/03/2020 18:37

This thread has turned really horrible. Op if you have any sense, ask for it to be deleted, with all the reports it might be anyway.

posie14 · 31/03/2020 18:39

The OP has been fairly instrumental in making it horrible.

She wants people to fawn over teachers, well, no. Some teachers are unkind, cruel, sex offenders, thieves, bullies. I won’t say how wonderful they are, because they are not.

Ritascornershop · 31/03/2020 18:46

One of my best friends is married to a teacher and firmly believes that every last one of them is hugely invested in the kids, works harder than anyone else he knows (he’s had a very part-time gig kind of job for years), is delivering top-level education for every kid etc. That artifice seems much more ingrained in teaching. The other profession I have a lot of exposure to, nursing, seems to have a lot more self-deprecation, black humour, and acknowledgment that there are a few bad apples.

Ritascornershop · 31/03/2020 18:47
  • sorry, not artifice, attitude.
SlipSlidin · 31/03/2020 18:47

@posie14 I didn’t say the op was blameless, she’s not, but nasty inflammatory posts like yours prove my point.

This thread is doing nobody any favours, it should go.

Bulb1976 · 31/03/2020 18:57

Yeah I’ve asked for it to be deleted. Life’s too short to be arguing with randoms. It’s my DH’s birthday and we are going to have a nice dinner and bottle of wine 🍷

A tiny minority of teachers are petulant, perpetual victims
True, some of us have the misfortune to work with them. They are rare but bloody awful to be around and can often be found trying to suck the joy out of others.

One such miserable swine spent months mocking my enthusiasm, which is funny because whilst I love my job and love the students, I'm certainly no pushover and am more than willing to stand my ground against unreasonable senior leaders and confrontational parents.

Pomegranatepompom · 31/03/2020 19:31

There are people like that on every profession I think, suck the joy from a room !

Or, you just lost, so you want the evidence destroyed.

I would have thought that a teacher of all people would be able to avoid an unnecessary scrap, let alone pick one.
