Anyone else’s skin terrible since lockdown?!

My skin has never been worse!

I haven’t changed my diet
I haven’t work any make up at all for two weeks
I’ve been showering as usual

My face is covered in huge (HUGE) spots.

Why?!

Stress?

Rosiejim · 28/03/2020 21:05

Hmmm. Good shout, but I don’t actually feel stressed. I’m going with the flow with lockdown (stop me if I’m sounding too cool Grin )

Yes. It feels grim too. I blame lack of exercise. I’d normally be doing a lot more.

Cheerbear23 · 28/03/2020 21:06

Don’t know but mine is too?
I’m thinking maybe to do with not wearing make up somehow.

Rosiejim · 28/03/2020 21:07

I’m doing slightly more exercise than usual but maybe it’s a no make up detox?! Is that a thing?

Are you still cleaning your face properly in the evening? I can get a bit lazy when I don't wear make-up and end up spotty from sleeping with "dirty" skin.

slipperywhensparticus · 28/03/2020 21:07

Mine is hideous

Rosiejim · 28/03/2020 21:08

@8dayweek hmmmmm - I did miss a night a few days ago. Usually I use an oil based cleanser every evening

Rosiejim · 28/03/2020 21:09

Solidarity @slipperywhensparticus Flowers I feel like a greasy specimen

Mine is red and irritated, but since I haven't been in my usual routine I keep forgetting to put any moisturiser on. I intend to try harder tomorrow!

Stroller15 · 28/03/2020 21:13

I have the same problem! Read on a different thread that wearing no make up might mean your cleansing regime is not as good. I don't know, going to give my face a good scrub tonight!

Graffitiqueen · 28/03/2020 21:14

Yes! Me too! My skin has never been so bad.

Timmytoo · 28/03/2020 21:14

It could be detoxing hence the spots. I bet in 2 weeks time your skin will look fabulous.

daffodil1224 · 28/03/2020 21:14

Me. I have dry scales all over. Spots. Never had either before

HibiscusCotton · 28/03/2020 21:15

Yes! Aside from removing make-up I’ve not changed my routine. My face is a mess, proper stare at in the street awful. I have a line around my lips

peachypetite · 28/03/2020 21:16

Omg I’ve never had this many nasty under the skin spots in my life. Mainly around chin and neck

hammeringinmyhead · 28/03/2020 21:16

Mine is all bumpy - I think it's because I work part time and on my days off (4.5 out of 7) I was previously spending a couple of hours a day walking outside in the fresh air.

feelinguseless101 · 28/03/2020 21:16

Yes!

I'm blaming stress

MakeLemonade · 28/03/2020 21:18

I saw something about the chlorine content in the water being higher than normal - might be a load of bollocks though, can’t remember where I read it.

AllRainbowsAndUnicorns · 28/03/2020 21:19

Yes, me too! Not wearing make up has meant I've let my skincare regime slide... but I' also due on, so it could be that.

Meaniebobeanie · 28/03/2020 21:21

All our hands our very dry from washing. My 7 year old who never has had dry skin has dry red patches around the knuckles. I've put a lotion right by the taps now so hopefully that will fix it.

kmc1111 · 28/03/2020 21:21

My skin always looks better when I’m wearing makeup daily. I think because it provides a bit of a barrier there’s less irritation.

notacooldad · 28/03/2020 21:21

Mine is the opposite and looking good. I am drinking more water, eating better and more relaxed at home ( as in not running round trying to make meetings etc) I am exercising and having a daily walks so getting my 15,000 steps on and eating at regular times and getting into a regular sleep pattern. I hadn't realised how unhealthy my life style had become so it has done me some good slowing down.

Pigsnduvets · 28/03/2020 21:23

Im sorry to say that mine is better! I’m not wearing makeup and my skin is glowing.

Could also do with me using Aveeno - I bought some just before lockdown.

I have however reached my target weight and then ate badly and added 6lb :(

MT2017 · 28/03/2020 21:24

I think it's because we're inside much more then usual.

Cannot wait for warmth to be able to sit in the garden and get some sun on my skin!
