We've already got Netflix and amazon. I don't ever pay for extras on amazon. I'm a single parent whose self isolating with 3 young primary kids. Is this Disney Channel worth the bother? x

It's great. You can watch on 4 devices at the same time. My dcs are discovering Disney movies they haven't seen. Dd2 had watched Oliver & Co over and over.

Soubriquet · 28/03/2020 14:39

If you got it last year it’s probably fine

Go on to search on to the apps screen

OhioOhioOhio · 28/03/2020 14:40

I'm almost crying. This is shit.

Ohio try googling it, we had to in order for Disney+ to work on our LG tv. It's not as straightforward as Amazon and Netflix (Especially if you're a Virgin media customer, they're not supporting Disney so it needs to be done in a roundabout way/app)

m00rfarm · 28/03/2020 14:43

What make is the tv. I think Samsung TVs are an issue.

Soubriquet · 28/03/2020 14:45

I have a samsung and found it easy

TDogsInHats · 28/03/2020 14:45

Don't give upOhio I nearly did, but I eventually sorted it out after a very frustrating hour!

schafernaker · 28/03/2020 14:46

😍 genuinely the best thing I’ve bought in months... currently watching high school musical 😂

TDogsInHats · 28/03/2020 14:46

Are you a Virgin Media customer? I believe it's much easier for Sky customers.

Elouera · 28/03/2020 14:47

If you have kids, it is good, but as a couple, we won't be subscribing (also already have netflix). We watched star wars from start to end (over 2 days) and it actually made FAR more sense to know what was going on! Toy Story 4 was hilarious and I want to see it again before the week is out. I was disappointed with the few national geographic episodes on there, and the rest are kids cartoons. Not for us, but great for a trial.

LemonScentedStickyBat · 28/03/2020 14:47

If you have a laptop you can connect it to the TV with an hdmi cable and watch that way

letsjog · 28/03/2020 14:50

Go onto your Amazon Fire stick (I'm reading correct you have it yes?) and search Disney plus. It comes up as a downloadable app and then you sign in.

You can access it every time through the home screen apps section of your Amazon Fire tv stick.

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 28/03/2020 14:54

We downloaded it this morning and are on our 6th film of the day. So I'd say it's definitely worth it. I'll be keeping it alongside Netflix, prime and sky. We do do other things as well as watch tv I promise 🤣

OhioOhioOhio · 28/03/2020 14:55

Amazon is just IN the tele somehow.

I have a firestick somewhere at the back of a cupboard. I tjink/hope.

Okay. I'll try again. I'm desperate to get them something of a boost. There are hail stones here.

OhioOhioOhio · 28/03/2020 14:56

The tele is called jvc.

confusednortherner · 28/03/2020 14:57

@SwerfandTurf how do you get it cheaper on O2 please?

Ginkeepsmesane · 28/03/2020 15:02

We have an LG smart TV and had to 'download' the app on the app store.
We pressed the house button on the remote, which normally brings up all the apps like Netflix etc, then scrolled right to get to the content store, then clicked & searched for Disney plus. Can you do something similar OP?

LellyMcKelly · 28/03/2020 15:06

It’s actually brilliant. All the Marvel, all the Star Wars, all the Pixar, all the princess movies - all premium stuff that costs £8-£10 a movie to download from Prime. If you watch more than 5 movies a year it’s worth it.

GabsAlot · 28/03/2020 15:07

my tv only has the disney life app which i thought was ok till i tried it its not the same

Washyourhandsyoufilthyanimal · 28/03/2020 15:08

I paid for it and I Love it! Much better than Netflix or amazon prime

ChippyMinton · 28/03/2020 15:09

I haven’t found a way to watch on tv, we have youview/talktalk.
So we plug a laptop in via a double ended HDMI cabled watch on the TV, plus those that want it have downloaded the app to their devices.

DD working her way through Hannah Montana etc. I’m enjoying Disney Weddings(!) and the classic movies. The boys are watching the Star Wars TV series, and the Marvel movies.

BadSpellaSpellaSpella · 28/03/2020 15:15

My son loves it at the moment but I think once the years subscription is up we will cancel as by then I think he would have watched everything he's interested in. I like the madelorian but if it was just me and my husband I wouldn't subscribe just for that

Olawisk · 28/03/2020 15:40

You've all been so helpful. Thank you.

I found an old amazon firestick in the garage and it was easy after that.

I feel as though I've just struck gold.
