Just spoken to one of his family members. He works for his friend and earns about 45k a year. He fiddles his earnings down to 16k a year and his friend pays him the rest in cash so he has to pay less child maintenance (he has 0 access so this would be fairly high should he declare his full earnings). He is a safeguarding risk to our son and court ordered 0 contact, and I have a lifelong restraining order, so IMHO he deserves no sympathy. He's just been on the phone to this family member who described him as 'going mental' that he's only going to be paid 80% of what he's declared by the government. Apparently it's all my fault as if he didn't have to pay me child maintenance he wouldn't have to have fiddled the books in the first place 😅 cheered me up in my isolation...

My husband is self employed and we were are very relieved that he will get 80%.

I was thinking thank God he declares all his earnings otherwise we would be screwed right now as well.

Up yours to your ex!!! 😂😂😂

cloudbutter · 27/03/2020 10:30

@helgahelga he really is amazing. He gets me through each day ❤️

my ex FIL is an arrogant little shit and thought he was cheating the system doing this.
I enjoyed watching him kick off on FB about how he was meant to pay for his mortgage and the payments on his obscene Chelsea tractor on the pittance he is being given Grin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 27/03/2020 10:30

YANBU and I hope all the other shit men who do this to avoid paying maintenance are feeling the financial struggle now.

timetest · 27/03/2020 10:31

A good news story. He won’t be the only one. Greedy gits.

grudieabbey · 27/03/2020 10:31

Ohhhh it warms the cockles of my heart, so it does. Grin

mumwon · 27/03/2020 10:32

hopefully the company is closing & making no money so he is dependent on the 80%
funnily enough dh & I were talking about this this morning (he has strong negative views on fathers/parents who do this) as I can remember a friend going through this. So glad to here it - I can hear the laughter from families affected Grin
keep well op & pp

puds11 · 27/03/2020 10:32

Well this made my day!! Grin

jay55 · 27/03/2020 10:33

I'm pissed off he's getting 80% of anything given he's enjoyed such a high tax free income.

helgahelga · 27/03/2020 10:33

@cloudbutter Smile

I bet also that his friend who pays him in cash ain't giving him jackshit right now, as he probably can't afford it. Grin

Bless your poor wee ex. He will only be able to live in the lifestyle he has kept you and your son in now. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! Grin

LS83 · 27/03/2020 10:34

YANBU! Oh how I would laugh and laugh and laugh.

Dollywilde · 27/03/2020 10:34

Oh that's glorious!

I'm massively quids in too because I have my beautiful son and he will never know that love (I don't think he knows how to be honest).

That really warmed my heart OP. Very best wishes to you, you sound like a fabulous mum (who fully deserves a moment of schadenfreude!)

WanderingMilly · 27/03/2020 10:35

This is great, it has really cheered me up.
Karma to all cheats, fiddlers and tax evaders across the land....yay!

ilovecakeandwine · 27/03/2020 10:36

Ah all these tax dodgers now getting their comeuppance 😆

HugeAckmansWife · 27/03/2020 10:37

I'd love to know what's being said in the chat rooms these guys use to explain to each other how to dodge maintenance.

Cattenberg · 27/03/2020 10:38

A friend’s ex is in the same boat. He’s under-declared his income for years to avoid paying income tax and he only has to pay pocket money in child maintenance.

He’s also a manipulative arse who smashes things up when he doesn’t get his own way, yet tries to portray my friend as the unreasonable one. Karma has finally caught up with him.

MoonlightDancer · 27/03/2020 10:39

This has really made me smile on friends behalf...her ex luxury cars, boxes at football matches, luxury holidays, house in new partners name by fiddling the books my friend gets nothing for her two children and really struggled...same as your ex he's hit the roof as his money's dried up pretty much over the last few days...luckily she's going to be ok as she works and they are still paying her whilst she works from home. To all those people fiddling the system Karma really is a beautiful thing!

mrsramblings · 27/03/2020 10:39

I've said this very thing about the tax dodgers only ever declaring so much, especially the child maintenance fiddle! Good, I'm so pleased to read it's upset a dodger, deserves nothing more.

MarshaBradyo · 27/03/2020 10:41

It is a turnabout for tax dodgers for sure and good since they will likely squeal the loudest over it

yesterdayhasgone · 27/03/2020 10:42

I’m over the moon at the thought my vile ex son in law who earns a hell of a lot but has paid my dd £10 a week for years is going to get his comeuppance. The man who has a wardrobe full of designer clothes, takes his new wife on exotic holidays,, (whilst refusing to contribute towards my dgd school trips) has expensive gym membership etc etc .......is now going to suffer. How he’s got away with it is beyond me. It would only have took a small investigation to see he was lying to the taxman. I can just imagine his rage filled face when he sees the pittance he receives. Grin

SlippedRoofTile · 27/03/2020 10:44

Bloody brilliant. How great that these scumbags are getting what they deserve

BlackeyedSusan · 27/03/2020 10:44

you know I was really worried that you were laughing unkindly... even a little bit. But no. Not a bit.

ChateauMyself · 27/03/2020 10:47

But why are they struggling on the ‘pittance’ of 80% ?

Surly just a small adjustment to their current lifestyle - no?

I mean, running their cars, rent/mortgage, holidays, socialising, suits, watches (and in my father’s case, horses and (shot) gun clubs) all needed, justified and accounted for out of current salary.

I’ve never understood how the fam courts and CMS can’t use their eyes and a calculator.

SudokuQueen · 27/03/2020 10:48

It is so funny that all of these people are finally getting their comeuppance. Feel sorry for none of them, they are stingy bastards who avoided paying tax and maintenance.

RedPanda2 · 27/03/2020 10:50

This has cheered me up today OP!
