Just spoken to one of his family members. He works for his friend and earns about 45k a year. He fiddles his earnings down to 16k a year and his friend pays him the rest in cash so he has to pay less child maintenance (he has 0 access so this would be fairly high should he declare his full earnings). He is a safeguarding risk to our son and court ordered 0 contact, and I have a lifelong restraining order, so IMHO he deserves no sympathy. He's just been on the phone to this family member who described him as 'going mental' that he's only going to be paid 80% of what he's declared by the government. Apparently it's all my fault as if he didn't have to pay me child maintenance he wouldn't have to have fiddled the books in the first place 😅 cheered me up in my isolation...

The best thread I have read over the past few days,my DD's ex will be in the same position payback for the last 14 yrs.

Bookoffacts · 27/03/2020 09:48

That's karma and it's pronounced 'Ha! '

This has cheered me right up

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 27/03/2020 09:49

You are SO not unreasonable, @cloudbutter Grin I know of someone I would have loved this to happen to, but the children concerned are adults now.

NotStayingIn · 27/03/2020 09:49

Ha ha ha that’s brilliant! And glad the government gets to save a bit of money by paying that arse.

1forsorrow · 27/03/2020 09:49

Well he could have saved all the tax and NI he didn't pay and I'm sure he would be fine so he is getting what he deserves.

I did think this would bite some people on the bum.

MadamShazam · 27/03/2020 09:49

Brilliant! I love this so much! 🤣👏

Sobeyondthehills · 27/03/2020 09:50

I do wonder how many people are going to be in this position, I would like to think, it would make them think again, but probably not

CoronaIsComing · 27/03/2020 09:50

This will be happening A LOT all over the country 😂😂😂

seltaeb · 27/03/2020 09:51

He wont' be alone. I foresee HMRC prosecutions for fraud in the future as these cases come to light....

TheTeenageYears · 27/03/2020 09:52

I’m sure there will be plenty of others getting their just deserts right now too.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/03/2020 09:52

I thought as soon as it was announced that a lot of selfish bastards would be finally getting their comeuppance.

What an absolute disgrace he is. Serves him right.

squiglet111 · 27/03/2020 09:55

Love this! So many dead beat dad's getting karma served up!

CaptainButtock · 27/03/2020 09:56

He’ll still be massively quids I’m in the long run tho....🤷🏻‍♀️

CaptainButtock · 27/03/2020 09:56

*quids in

Doingitaloneandproud · 27/03/2020 09:56

This is fantastic, no sympathy for him! There will be so many who have done this that will be reaping what they deserve

Zombiemum1946 · 27/03/2020 09:57

Karma is a wonderful thing. Have a virtual party. Dh and his mates had a pub type get together on a group face time call. It was hilarious.

midnightstar66 · 27/03/2020 09:58

I'll never forget the smug look on ex dp's face when he informed me that he was moving jobs to become self employed and that he was only going to declare a bare minimum income so he wouldn't have to pay any maintenance- he also managed to lie in order to get £4K worth of arrears removed (alongside incompetencey of CMS was a joint effort). I know we shouldn't enjoy revenge but I'd be lying if I wasn't feeling a similar smugness rn

TheFormidableMrsC · 27/03/2020 09:59

It made my day yesterday! My ex has bent over backwards with his under declaring, avoiding maintenance, all aided and abetted by OW. Karma indeed 👏

cloudbutter · 27/03/2020 09:59

@captainbuttock I'm choosing to live in this moment and enjoy this for now. I'm massively quids in too because I have my beautiful son and he will never know that love (I don't think he knows how to be honest).

One of my friends has had next to zero child support from her nasty ex. Drives an expensive car, keeps horses. OK he may still have saved more than he is currently losing but it is still completely joyous news!
