To think I can still go out with Flu symptoms (essential reasons only)

Obviously not atm because I feel like 💩 but when I feel better I don't need to self isolate for 2 weeks? I need to do the food shop on Monday so only essential reasons.

I checked on the NHS website and it seems I have flu symptoms no corona virus (no continuous cough or high temp) even though I have had the flu vaccine!

Thanks for any insight!

@dementedpixie my GP rang me back about the baby (as we spoke to a nurse practitioner first) and said it was very unlikely as we had not had either children out for nearly 2 weeks and one of us would of had to of displayed symptoms first to have passed it on to them, not to mention his temp was fine after that so it was more than likely because he was cutting a tooth! DD also completely fine. Also the doctor I spoke to through 111 said he was fine and to give him Nurofen for the teething!

My DH is at a higher risk of getting the virus and has not shown 1 symptom yet but as advised on here he needs to isolate for 14 days!

@Babyboomtastic I don't need to ask about my children, I am asking about MY symptoms, I have spoken to 2 doctors about my children thank you!

I haven't RTFT, so apologies for that. I developed a mild cough on Sunday so we're doing our 14 days. It's not so bad, once you know that none of the family can leave the house, your mindset sort of shifts.

Babyboomtastic · 27/03/2020 11:57

Seriously, just stay at home. What part of self isolating if you have symptoms do you not understand. 3 out if the 4 members of your household have symptoms. You need to be self isolating, and so do your family. You aren't some special exception, where the rules don't apply to you.

Babyboomtastic · 27/03/2020 11:58

And it's people like you that are spreading this disease and causing people to die. You are being completely irresponsible.

blueluce85 · 27/03/2020 12:13

Sorry, haven't RTF, but you need to self isolate for 7 days from when symptoms started, and your parter 14days from that day too.. And then longer if they develop symptoms towards the end of that period.

Please don't risk contributing to making this situation worse.

Fb sites have been great around where I live

StripeyDeckchair · 27/03/2020 12:17

If you are I'll self isolate the entire household immediately for 14 days and you for 14 days after the last symptom.

Ffs there are people risking their life to work and you want to go the the supermarket, i genuinely despair. We'll be doing this for months a d loads more people will die if people don't stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

GnomicGnu · 27/03/2020 12:23

If you are I'll self isolate the entire household immediately for 14 days and you for 14 days after the last symptom.

Where on earth do people find this kind of nonsense? That is absolutely nothing like the Government advice.

Here’s a handy graphic for the hard of thinking.

Orangecake123 · 27/03/2020 12:24

ffs OP stay at home.

2MapleMuffins · 27/03/2020 12:35

Just stay at home. It's not that hard. Plenty of options have been suggested. Use the options.

@Babyboomtastic can you get of my thread your bloody boring me now!!

My DC will NOT be leaving the house/back garden for the foreseeable future so they do not even come in to this.

Like people have said as long as my symptoms have gone I can go out after Monday (7 days after 'symptoms' started) but my DH needs to be isolating for 14 days.

Some people on Mumsnet honestly think they are the be all and end all of this world smh 🤦🏻‍♀️

@GnomicGnu Thank you that is very helpful!

If it was true “flu” you would be physically unable to go shopping anyway.

Do you really need to ask?

HJWT · 27/03/2020 16:59

@Booksandwine80 You can still get the flu after having the flu vaccine but your symptoms can be a lot less intense, not to mention there are many strains of flu.🤦🏻‍♀️
