Has anyone been able to get hold of them? My flight (internal uk one) was understandably cancelled and they have offered for me to change the flight or have a refund. I would like a refund but can’t seem to do this on the app or the website, I have emailed and sent a message by twitter and tried calling (I am sure my bill is now more than the flight!) but guessing they might not answer the phone at all now? Should I change my flight to later date and ask for a refund when things quiet down?

@heidbuttsupper that conjured the picture of an empty call centre with the phones ringing and ringing...

Martins advice on refunds confirming that vouchers do not need to be accepted

Cheeseismylife · 30/03/2020 12:05

We have easyjet flights next week.
They are apparently not cancelled even though the whole fleet is grounded Hmm

We also had onward flights with TAP.
They've cancelled and are refusing point blank to refund anyone at all, they insist that the voucher counts as a refund. However a voucher is no use to us as the flight was for a specific occasion which we'll obviously now miss and won't happen again. I will try and claim for bank and travel insurance but they want an email as written proof that TaP and easyjet won't refund and getting that seems totally impossible.

@Aragog what is your favourite song on the hold loop?

GemmeFatale · 30/03/2020 12:19

If only EasyJet had a whole bunch of staff (say flight attendants) who could be redeployed to the phone lines enabling them to operate an effective 24/7 help line.

Aragog · 30/03/2020 12:20

I'm quite enjoying the tinny version of Ed Sheeran to be honest.

Aragog · 30/03/2020 12:21

You?

You must be over 4 hours now, yes?
I am on 3hr 49 min.

Im not sure how much longer I can do this...

heidbuttsupper · 30/03/2020 12:22

I like the Weekend, feels nice and chilled @Aragog I'm at 4 hours 20 mins

diddl · 30/03/2020 12:23

I've had a flight cancelled by Ryanair-refund or rebook.

Haven't tried yet but tbh the voucher option would be good as it's a flight that I regularly do, but it 's not offered!

You'd think that Ryanair would be trying all tricks to hold onto money!

Aragog · 30/03/2020 12:26

diddl - it look a day or so for the request refund button to appear after cancellation on mine.

I think I am going to quit the call shortly. I need food!

Aragog · 30/03/2020 17:24

Wow! You were very dedicated!.

Did you ever get through before the lines closed at 5?

heidbuttsupper · 30/03/2020 18:10

Nope @Aragog never got through

LIZS · 30/03/2020 18:13

Ridiculous. Any update from twitter?

Aragog · 30/03/2020 18:39

I've not had any response from twitter messages or tweets - sent first 4 days ago

Mummyshark2018 · 31/03/2020 21:58

I agreed to a voucher yesterday , as I'm a frequent flyer so knew I would use it. When they sent the link the voucher expires in August (they did say it was time limited when I chose that option) which doesn't give me much time use it given there will be no flying for the foreseeable. When I went on their website for the first time I was able to complete the refund form, but there was nowhere to give the reason why I'm not wanting a refund so we'll see!!

heidbuttsupper · 31/03/2020 22:24

August! @Mummyshark2018 that is ridiculous!

Mummyshark2018 · 01/04/2020 00:22

My post should've read that they didn't say it was time limited hence why I opted for it!

NemophilistRebel · 01/04/2020 00:27

Is there a high risk here that they will go bust before providing refunds and thereby leaving most customers out of pocket?

heidbuttsupper · 01/04/2020 19:08

I think you might be right @NemophilistRebel I have put in a claim with my travel insurance as now DLP are not offering refunds either.

If anyone gets a refund from Easyjet, keep us updated!

MrsMGE · 01/04/2020 19:30

Hi all

We have EasyJet flights booked for early May. I read the entire fleet is grounded for the foreseeable, yet our flights do not appear to have been cancelled when I logged in to my account. I am not interested in a voucher, I want a full refund. I see from your posts it's impossible to contact EasyJet these days. Does anyone have any ideas?

heidbuttsupper · 01/04/2020 20:18

Hi @MrsMGE someone posted the email address of the CEO a few posts down, you could try that. I was on hold for 7.5 hours on Monday trying to get through to someone and eventually gave up, not convinced there is anyone taking the calls! If you booked on credit card you could try get your money back that way? We have certainly got a fight on our hands!
