Has anyone been able to get hold of them? My flight (internal uk one) was understandably cancelled and they have offered for me to change the flight or have a refund. I would like a refund but can’t seem to do this on the app or the website, I have emailed and sent a message by twitter and tried calling (I am sure my bill is now more than the flight!) but guessing they might not answer the phone at all now? Should I change my flight to later date and ask for a refund when things quiet down?

Doubt it would be worth travel insurance claim for us. Dd has a separate annual policy to ours, so 2x excess.

Mummyshark2018 · 28/03/2020 22:00

Can anybody share the easyJet email address?

Wheresthebeach · 29/03/2020 11:46

DH just kept hitting redial (201 times!!!). Got through, on hold for 45 minutes, they have promised a refund. Talk about determined....

TurquoiseDress · 29/03/2020 14:39

@Wheresthebeach

that's amazing, I was trying to get through/on hold for over 4 hours yesterday, nothing, seemed to get cut off in the end.

I used the number 0161 774 9879 so you are put on hold rather than cheery recorded message which then disconnects you!

Wheresthebeach · 29/03/2020 15:06

He sat at this desk working and hitting recall on his mobile. Now it’s a matter of waiting to see when it shows up!

heidbuttsupper · 29/03/2020 17:34

Well done @Wheresthebeach DH! I might try this tomorrow. Sick of that cheery message though

zelbazinnamon · 29/03/2020 17:37

I got through today, to be told they won’t give me a refund, just a voucher. However I insisted and it’s apparently being escalated Hmm

Wheresthebeach · 29/03/2020 17:52

That’s poor @zelbazinnamon - the way thing are going I’m not sure we could afford the holiday next year...we won’t be the only ones.

yearinyearout · 29/03/2020 17:53

Anyone tried livechat? I was in a queue for 25 mins but that's how I got hold of them.

autumnmum · 29/03/2020 17:58

They've cancelled my flights via email but when I go into my account it's asking me to check in (!) or rebook - no voucher option. I actually want a refund so will keep trying the call centre.

LittleMcJiggle · 29/03/2020 18:12

My flight was cancelled with them 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for my refund 😑

tiggerkid · 29/03/2020 18:17

My EasyJet flight in early April was also cancelled but they are not cancelling the return. No option to get the refund for either flight and impossible to get through to them. I am trying not to think about this at the moment because airline should refund the costs of flights they cancelled. That's the law. So i hope it's only a matter of time before EasyJet has to do that.

TurquoiseDress · 29/03/2020 20:09

@zelbazinnamon

Wow well done for getting through! That's v annoying they only want to offer a voucher- we could have done that ourselves via online account.

Gosh, not sure what else to do, didn't bother with calling them today.

Does anyone know- what happens if I ding re-book onto another flight or accept vouchers? Once the cancelled flight date passes does a refund then kick in? Or do you simply lose your money??

LIZS · 29/03/2020 20:13

We should have flown today so will let you know. Afaik you have same options under Manage my booking.

heidbuttsupper · 29/03/2020 20:36

@LIZS do you have a refund option under the 'manage booking' tab? Maybe we need to wait till the travel date has passed @TurquoiseDress

heidbuttsupper · 29/03/2020 20:36

I hope so too @tiggerkid

LIZS · 29/03/2020 20:37

Not as of yesterday, have not checked since. Assume the lead person needs to make the call?

heidbuttsupper · 29/03/2020 20:38

Think l'll log onto the live chat first thing tomorrow @yearinyearout did you request a refund this way?

heidbuttsupper · 29/03/2020 20:39

@LittleMcJiggle were you able to request a refund online?

heidbuttsupper · 29/03/2020 20:41

Yeah the lead person would need to call @LIZS but trying to get through to the call centre is impossible. It seems there was a refund option available online previously but it has now mysteriously vanished!

LIZS · 29/03/2020 20:46

Will have to nudge dh again then!

OneHanded · 29/03/2020 20:57

I work in travel insurance and this happens every major event involving a region let alone globally. I appreciate the frustration but patience patience patience! (And please remember that when dealing any customer service etc too!)

LIZS · 29/03/2020 21:02

When our flight was grounded by snow just prior to Christmas one year we got a refund automatically very quickly.

CointreauVersial · 29/03/2020 21:06

Watching this thread.....we have flights to Spain booked in a couple of weeks - not cancelled yet, but I bet they will be.

Also have had a work trip cancelled - so not my money but I still would like them to refund.

They are probably having a corporate meltdown, so I do have a little sympathy....just a little.

HigherFinish · 29/03/2020 21:09

I emailed the CEO and the head of customer service.

Two days later I got a phone call and a refund.
