To even consider staying in a holiday cottage?

This might sound stupid but I have a private cottage booked in the North Yorkshire Moors. Were supposed to be going next weekend. Is there anyway we would still be able to go? It would basically be my family going in our car and effectively moving into another house. We would exercise by doing a walk in the moors so plenty big enough area to practice social distancing. The rest of the time would be in the house but it's better than mine and a change of scenery also!

No you can't go.

Bumpsadaisie · 23/03/2020 23:45

I live in the south lakes. We have two naice caravan parks up our lane. The numbers of holiday makers going up and down in large groups atm - actually more than in the summer holidays!

Have you seen the a and e capacity of Westmorland general hospital in Kendal or the royal infirmary in Lancaster? I know the respiratory consultant in Lancaster ...and it is not pretty ...

You don't want to be flat on your back on a ventilator and fighting to breathe up here folks. Still less do you want to put one of our elderly or vulnerable folk in that position.

Please don't come on holiday.

Walnutwhipster · 24/03/2020 00:01

Fuck me! Seriously?

KenAdams · 24/03/2020 00:02

Lets go over this very slowly

You can leave the house for

  1. one form of exercise once a day
    You're driving so that's a no

  2. Work
    It's a holiday so that's a no

  3. Buying essential supplies
    It's a holiday so that's a no

  4. Seeking medical attention
    It's a holiday so that's a no

1 no + 1 no + 1 no + 1 no = 4 no's.

4 no's means you can't go.

Is that a little clearer for you?

Badabingbadabum · 24/03/2020 00:04

Stay the fuck at home. Holiday home on the moors!

To even consider staying in a holiday cottage?
Abracad · 24/03/2020 00:10

OP. how about this. You sign a disclaimer that neither you nor any of your family will use health care, an ICU, or a ventilator which might otherwise be used for someone who has obeyed the rules and hasn’t swanned off for their weekend away. You do that and you can knock yourself out. No. Thought not. Stop being such a fucking selfish moron and STAY AT HOME.

penisbeakers · 24/03/2020 00:14

Jesus fucking Christ.

Wotawally · 24/03/2020 00:46

I'm blind. Even I can understand what stay at home means without reading it. Please don't put vulnerable people more at risk. It isn't nice, fair or kind.

Notredamn · 24/03/2020 00:49

Luckily for idiots like you, there's no need to dither anymore. Choice has been taken out of your hands.
Your holidays isn't permitted.

Glitteryone · 24/03/2020 00:59

Ffs it’s because of people like you that this virus is spreading and killing people at a rate that the NHS will soon no longer be able to manage.

KickAssAngel · 24/03/2020 01:06

I'm hoping that all these threads are a clever government ruse to try and spread the message to STAY AT HOME.

Someone pretends to be a bit slow ask "can I just" and everyone piles in shouting NO. If someone else reading the thread then thinks "Ohh, better stay home then" it helps.

That, or people old enough to read and write are really this stupid.

tryingtoprep · 24/03/2020 01:11

I do wonder if the MPs are staying in London? Would that be their main home or the one in their constituency?

Vinipote · 24/03/2020 01:13

Ffs 🤦‍♀️

TheSandman · 24/03/2020 01:14

I live in the Highlands where we have a similar problem getting the message through to people.

NO!

Fucking stay home.

Farheatarse · 24/03/2020 01:16

Stay at home,,,,

How could it be more simple.

STAY THE FUCK AT HOME

OrangeTwirl · 24/03/2020 01:22

FFS! Stay home!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry ☺️ I am getting so angry with idiots who cannot understand they need to stay home! Essential travel only. A holiday break is not essential travel 🤬

Do you think Yorkshire will want you there? The majority of Yorkshire will be attempting to keep themselves safe. Do you know for certain you are not harbouring Coronavirus? No... you don’t!!!

You have a brain - use it!

PositiveVibez · 24/03/2020 01:27

Please do not be a twat.

Would you tell your elderly relatives to travel? No? Then don't do it yourself.

tryingtoprep · 24/03/2020 01:29

What happens when parliament goes into recess? Will the MPs be told to stay away? I presume most are currently in London - mingling in close quarters with many people. Will they stay in London or will they travel back to their constituencies - rural included?

user1473878824 · 24/03/2020 01:39

You posted this two hours after the government said YOU MUST STAY INSIDE YOUR HOUSE what bit of that gave you any difficulty in understanding what STAY INSIDE YOUR HOUSE meant?

user1473878824 · 24/03/2020 01:40

@tryingtoprep they have houses in London. Which they stay inside. They’re not mingling. Jesus h.

bbpet · 24/03/2020 01:52

Go and self isolate there.

TiggerOfThigh · 24/03/2020 01:54

We don’t want you here. Stay the fuck at home

tryingtoprep · 24/03/2020 01:55

@user147387884 They've been mingling with each-other. They sit very close together in the house of commons. I wondered if they intended to travel to their home constituencies. You say they will stay in London so I assume they've confirmed this in a press release. Thank you for answering my question.
