Getting a big wet snotty kiss off my 20 month old grandson and massive hugs off my two daughters. Daily video calls just don't hack it.

Sux2buthen · 21/03/2020 22:01

SlipSlidin · 21/03/2020 22:01

Seeing DM twice a week, at least. And indeed seeing all of our family and friends. We have 6 birthdays close together (me, best friend, DH, MIL, DM and DSF, in that order) over the April/May period and I want to celebrate them all eventually. Maybe all at once with a big party. Oh, and then DS is 2 in the Summer. (Thankfully DD had her birthday and party before it all kicked off.)

DD(6) going back to school, and Rainbows as well. It hasn't quite hit her that she might not be going back in Y1, and that it'll be awhile before we can do all of our usual stuff again. She's really started making friends and is doing so well, and it'll be hard for her to adjust to life with just us.

And the school run, so that DS(20 mo) can see his beloved vehicles every day. Buses, trucks, cars, anything. His little face just lights up! But right now I'm not taking him anywhere and he'll have to make do with YouTube...

1 See my Mum and Dad.

Lots of little things knowing everyone is safe, seeing church, bingo friends. Going into town shopping for fun stuff, pandora charms.

cushioncovers · 21/03/2020 22:03

Being able to hug my mum. I stood outside my parents house and spoke to her through their lounge window yesterday and she just cried.
She is 70 and has a neurological illness which is life limiting and in reality this is probably the last summer she will be able to get out of the house. We had plans to do a few local day trips and try to get her out and about as much as we could before she's unable to do so anymore. Now her and my dad have to self isolate for 12 weeks. I'm gutted. Sad

tinseltitsandlittlegits · 21/03/2020 22:04

Watching my children hug their grandma ❤️
She's medically vulnerable so my children can't visit and I'm praying they get to hug her tight 🙏

missmouse101 · 21/03/2020 22:04

Yes, being on my own again during the day.

Likethebattle · 21/03/2020 22:05

My daughter going back to nursery which she loves and seeing her friends again.

Also seeing my parents, although I am used to going without seeing them for several months at a time.

RogueV · 21/03/2020 22:07

Just nipping our to see my mum and dad and taking the kids with me.
Miss the freedom of just going to see them when I want to and it’s not even been that long

Canyoutellilikrchocolate · 21/03/2020 22:07

Also I hope all NHS staff get a chance to recover Flowers

Lifeisgenerallyfun · 21/03/2020 22:08

Hugging friends and family. Seeing groups of people. Watched a choir sing on you tube earlier, felt quite emotional seeing people standing next to each other singing together, made me realise how powerful it is.

I am also looking forward to showing an even greater appreciation for the simple things in life and hoping others do to. I’m hoping people see this as the chance for a new start prioritising things that matter. If we keep on going the way we were before, what we have now is a walk in the park to where humanity is/was heading.

Auldspinster · 21/03/2020 22:09

Hugging my 73 year old mum.

Mallowmarshmallow · 21/03/2020 22:10

Watching my DC being reunited with their beloved grandparents who they're already missing terribly after six days of separation....

Lifeisgenerallyfun · 21/03/2020 22:11

JaceLancs · 21/03/2020 22:11

A holiday

Lalalalalalalalaland · 21/03/2020 22:11

I can't wait for the day we take the children back to school.

Not so much to get rid of them... though maybe a bit... but I can already see the delight on the childrens faces to see their friends again, to see their teachers and classrooms and to know that life is back to normal.

Also looking forward to having lunch out on a sunny lunchtime when me and dp both have a day off that falls midweek

goose1964 · 21/03/2020 22:11

I chi wait to see my daughter and he family. Her husband has only just come out of hospital after being diagnosed with Crohn's so she's musing him plus looking after a manic 3 year old.
