AIBU in thinking that one good thing that's come of all this CV nightmare, is that the wider MN community will have at least been spared eleventy billion threads on what to buy for a teacher's gift this year...

Sounds a bit sad, but I feel like we've been given the gift of time!
All those little things we dont seem to have the time for.
We're going to start growing tomatoes, and sort out our wardrobes and cupboards, play silly games, and write letters to our friends.
I've been feeling so overwhelmed with everything, thinking like this now helps

nicknackpaddy · 21/03/2020 12:39

I'm spending less so will be able to work towards reducing or clearing my overdraft.

bullyingadvice2017 · 21/03/2020 12:46

Loving all the sleep.
Not having to be rushing around doing errands.
No work.
Going to be some cracking property on the market after this.
Not had a bra on for a week.
Pets happy at everyone being home.

StCharlotte · 21/03/2020 13:02

I'll be home for every single online delivery for the next 12 weeks Grin

No Eastenders.

Allaboutthepizza · 21/03/2020 13:13

Loving all these positives! Keep them coming Smile

Snacking less! Keep looking at stuff and thinking I'll leave that for the kids.

Just need to work some exercise into it as well.

I can also see DD2 managing her aim of completing all her Beaver Badges. Swimming might have to wait...

Justmuddlingalong · 21/03/2020 13:20

Couldn't get my standard sliced white bread today. Bought an "artisan" loaf, whatever the fuck that is. It cost almost 3 times as much, but omg. There's no going back for me. It's cheese and leek in case anyone's interested.
I was out first thing this morning, walking the 2 minutes to get to the beach, I stepped off the pavement to let a very elderly gentleman pass with lots of room between us. He doffed his wee tartan cap to me. I could have blubbed.

incognitomum · 21/03/2020 13:23

Loving a positive thread Smile

I have to go to work as support people with learning disabilities in their own homes. Mainly one person who has challenging behaviour. They aren't happy about pibs and cafes ect closing but they are unhealthily overweight so am going to do more home cooking. They can cook too.

incognitomum · 21/03/2020 13:24

Pubs*

UnrulySalvia · 21/03/2020 13:25

I don't need to worry about my "maternity wardrobe" - I'll just be wearing joggers and enormous t shirts for the foreseeable 👍

TheMemoryLingers · 21/03/2020 13:26

We'll definitely be spared the humiliation of nul points in Eurovision because it's been cancelled.

UnrulySalvia · 21/03/2020 13:27

@Justmuddlingalong welcome to the wanky bread club Grin you'll be on to the sourdough before you know it..

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 21/03/2020 13:27

I might actually get chance to cook one of the eleventy billion keto recipes I keep saving!

floatygoat · 21/03/2020 13:27

I have the time to help my children learn their times tables by wrote, basic geography, cooking, we can grow things because it's spring.

crosser62 · 21/03/2020 13:28

3rd load of washing on the line blowing in the sunshine.

I have mountains of washing.

Dryadia · 21/03/2020 13:33

the world detoxing capitalism/materialism, I believe it take 21 days to break/make a habit or addiction.

Well we can hope anyway.

rslsys · 21/03/2020 13:40

Love our kids to bits, but now they are not randomly arriving with DGC in tow, we've got shedloads of jobs done around the house and in the garden.
Going to have a Caravan Holiday next weekend! It's parked next to the house so will sleep in it for a few nights and pretend we are away.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 21/03/2020 13:44

I live on the Heathrow flight path and it’s been lovely and quiet.

MrsJBaptiste · 21/03/2020 13:52

I'll save money by not having to drive to work
There will be hardly any washing and no school shirts to iron
I can delay my hair appt as nobody will see the grey poking through
We might actually do more things as a family - board games, baking, chatting (!)

LynnSchmob · 21/03/2020 13:57

My garden is going to look amazing this summer.

Hippofrog · 21/03/2020 13:58

I’ve lost 7lbs in two weeks through nervous energy, it’s like a divorce diet. I’d rather be fat than this though.

SimonJT · 21/03/2020 14:05

After seven days of trying (me nagging like fuck and trying to be positive) my four year old can finally wipe his own arse.

I’ve put the blinds up, I bought them in April.

I have been teaching my boyfriend Urdu, he now knows how to essentially call himself a smelly pig brained fool. He doesn’t know that obviously.

I have at least six months supply of lube. We are dedicated to sexercise.

QueenofLouisiana · 21/03/2020 14:12

We have decided to re-think our lives. We’ve been saying we want to spend more time together, be less frantic. Well, now we have to do that.

So we’ve gardened, eaten lunch in the garden (well wrapped up) and had a glass of wine (nowhere time drive to). Now about to siesta before I cook dinner.

Evennow · 21/03/2020 14:13

The garden is getting more attention and my French is improving through study. My other projects include taking up the musical instrument I gave up years ago, putting up bookshelves and painting part of the house. Also planning to improve my very basic drawing skills. (No longer have small children in the house so don’t have that pressure). Am usually out every day.

AFireInJuly · 21/03/2020 14:17

I can wear yoga pants while working (from home)

Can nap after lunch every day.

Am doing fitness blender workouts every day so will be ripped by the end of this.
