I’ve just been going through my cupboards and found this beauty - cannot see anyone eating it and nobody knows its origins??!
Where did it come from? Who bought it? Sounds vile

6 tins of sardines the 2 bags of quinoa

By the end of next week, you'll probably be able to exchange those for a second-hand car. Grin

Thekind Grin

Inkpaperstars · 23/03/2020 01:38

DP has been pushing the idea of something called 'pea and fava bean protein' for tea for several days, so far I have managed to stall...

mathanxiety · 23/03/2020 01:47

I bought some microwave popcorn and DD4 tried a bag of it today.

The other two bags from the packet will be our absolute last gasp thing to eat when we have simply nothing left.

sobersides · 23/03/2020 06:32

I've got coconut oil , suspect I bought it when the dog had skin problems but I never used it. Haven't got a Scooby Doo what I can use it for.

Zombiemum1946 · 23/03/2020 07:19

@thekindofwindowsfaceslookinat the kids are at home. I'd settle for 2 bottles of gin and a crate of tonic.

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 23/03/2020 07:20

Microwave popcorn should pop in a saucepan like normal - or is the problem the flavouring?

sueelleker · 23/03/2020 09:05

Coconut oil is supposed to be very good for frying, as it has a high smoking point.

StrawberrySquash · 23/03/2020 14:32

@AlCalavicci You can make an open lasagne if you don't want a baked one. Simpler. Loads of recipes online.

SlipSlidin · 23/03/2020 14:44

My uncle died in 1979. Mum took all the tins in his cupboard to ours, there was a Goblin individual steak and kidney pie amongst it all.
My parents died in 2006 and yes, it was still there. I cried my eyes out when I threw it away.

Lex234 · 23/03/2020 17:11

I was given horseradish as part of a hamper at Christmas. I am more likely to use it ti clad the wall than eat it Grin

EmpressMcSchnozzle · 23/03/2020 17:57

@sobersides you can use the coconut oil for frying, or as a moisturiser on your skin, or add a teaspoonful to your tea or your coffee for extra calories.

sobersides · 23/03/2020 20:45

@EmpressMcSchnozzle I'm not sure I need extra calories but the moisturiser sounds interesting. Thanks!

PenguinsOnParade · 23/03/2020 21:41

@sobersides - I mix up some coconut oil with some sugar and sometimes a splash of lemon juice and it makes a brilliant moisturising hand scrub. Rub it all over your hands, leave for a couple of minutes then rinse off with hot water. Leaves them really soft and smooth.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 23/03/2020 21:44

That'll clog your drains though. All the fat is really and not the drains and the sewers. Fatberg, anyone?

EmpressMcSchnozzle · 24/03/2020 03:03

Mini post to add I normally just leave the coconut oil on my skin if I'm using it as a moisturiser. Like everyone else my hands are very, very dry at the moment due to all the soap so I'm exploring ways of putting the oil back in.

DetroitLake · 24/03/2020 03:37

I panicked and ate crystalized ginger and a pepperoni stick.

PenguinsOnParade · 24/03/2020 13:10

It's really just the sugar that washes off, the oil doesn't mix with water so you rub it into your hands afterwards.

BlueChangling · 24/03/2020 17:47

A bottle of coffee flavoured whiskey < double yuk. Someone (DH) has opened it, had a glug of it, decided it wasn't for them them then hid it at the back of the cupboard.

Also some packets of custard that went out of date in 2012.

Polkadotpjs · 24/03/2020 18:12

@glueandstick - you could in 2016 😂😂😂

Quinoa. I like it but produces too much gas!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/03/2020 18:30

I think even I would chuck the custard packets - but maybe I'd just try one out first to check ...

sueelleker · 24/03/2020 19:24

Put a slug of the whisky in coffee; should disguise the taste.

TheDogsMother · 25/03/2020 19:21

I've just got the homemade lentil Ragu out of the freezer where it's been for the best part of a year. I'm going to have to eat it aren't I ? For the record I have nothing against lentils it's just that this was horrible
