My shopping got delivered to the wrong address

My shopping got delivered to the wrong address, and I'm so upset about it! Was really looking forward to it. They told me what the person looked like and the colour of their door.. honestly she took all those bags knowing that the shopping wasn't for her, it just baffles me. How can you do that? I've had takeaway drivers try to deliver food that was meant for my neighbours or someone else but always told them I didn't order it. Some people are just scum. Been doing online shopping for years now and most drivers call if they can't find my house.. but this idiot driver aghhh I'm so pissed off 😡

And you with the white door, if you're reading this then shame on you!

I'm sure you'll get a refund or another delivery?

Alonelonelyloner · 14/03/2020 13:03

They delivered to the wrong address. The delivery company are responsible. Demand a refund.

Also I'm waving my fist furiously at White Door Food Thief!

LannieDuck · 14/03/2020 13:04

Presumably the supermarket will send out a new delivery, since they haven't actually completed your order?

inselfisolationnow · 14/03/2020 13:11

Obviously they'll send out a new order but that's not the point. Op might have needed it today.

TheQueef · 14/03/2020 13:15

Some people are just scrubbers.
Owt for nowt.
No shame.

DesLynamsMoustache · 14/03/2020 13:21

The brass neck of someone to accept a whole food shop that isn't for them! ShockShockShock

Fuckyoumorrisons · 14/03/2020 13:24

I'll get a refund obviously, but I have to make a new order, book a new slot etc. They're not going to go back and get the items because of the Coronavirus, so basically some scumbag got £80 worth of free shopping! Was really looking forward to the chocolates, kids gone all weekend 😩

OP posts:
TheQueef · 14/03/2020 13:25

They won't even like half the stuff.

MRex · 14/03/2020 13:25

They should send you another delivery later today.

That's amazing cheeky fuckery though, I've never heard of somebody taking someone's full shop. If everyone's quarantined and her address is blacklisted for deliveries she might regret it, otherwise I don't know what comeback there can be - a bill from the supermarket that she ignores doesn't do much. Is it a crime to impersonate someone else to take their stuff?

Psychologika · 14/03/2020 13:28

I would honestly go round there

Modestandatinybitsexy · 14/03/2020 13:28

I don't feel a refund is good enough. You placed an order you didn't receive. It was their delivery that was wrong. They should be the ones rectifying this asap.

ilovedjerrymore · 14/03/2020 13:29

Was they meant to get a delivery as well but just got the wrong items or was a complete random person they gave the items to?
Is it a address near you? Or similar?

SudokuQueen · 14/03/2020 13:32

I would be sending the police to her door, that's theft. She stole that shopping, she knew it wasn't hers, she shouldn't have taken it. Would she go into the shop itself, load up a trolley and walk out without paying? That's essentially what she has done.

Veronicat · 14/03/2020 13:32

I'd go round there tbh

HappyHammy · 14/03/2020 13:33

Unless white door thought someone had done an order for them it is theft, cf.

iheartislesofwight · 14/03/2020 13:36

not sure the police would be that interested tbh they are stretched enough as it is, cf will get their come back although you might never know about, these things have a way of working out.

KatherineJaneway · 14/03/2020 13:36

Go and confront them

AdobeWanKenobi · 14/03/2020 13:40

I would be sending the police to her door, that's theft

I suspect thats up to Morrisons not the OP. OP's contract is with Morrisons and how they choose to deal with it is up to them sadly.

I'd also be wanting to bang the door down fwiw

Fuckyoumorrisons · 14/03/2020 13:41

I don't have the address, that was my first thought too, to go round there. But they just said 'white female, white door'. there's no white doors here, and I'm Muslim but I have a very 'international ' name, think ' Sofia/ruby/sara' so I don't think the driver thought anything of it when this woman opened the door. I don't even have my full name on their 'just Sara A' or something like that.

It could be a different delivery to the wrong address, but she hasn't rung them. Wouldn't you be straight on the phone to Morrison's if you got the wrong order?

That happened to me two Christmases ago, except the elderly person who took it in thought her carer had ordered it. She did make efforts to find out the true owner as soon as she realised the mistake but by then, I'd negotiated not only a speedy duplicate delivery but a sizeable discount as well for the inconvenience.

Mind you, we didn't have Covid-19 to contend with at the time.

I do think you have a reasonable case for compensation by way of a discount, OP. The cost of the shopping will have been deducted from your credit card at the time of despatch. That means you had a legally enforceable contract with them at that point, and they failed to carry out their obligation.

My advice is to stay calm on the phone (even though you are understandably quite cross) and point out the inconvenience, especially as they have delivered to you before and really have no excuse, and ask how they are going to make amends.

TedsFederationRep · 14/03/2020 13:44

Just read your update, OP.

My delivery went to the same number house in an entirely different road, about half a mile away. No idea why.

Still, a speedy delivery and a reasonable discount is the least you should expect. Good luck.

Fuckyoumorrisons · 14/03/2020 13:49

@TedsFederationRep I got a £15 voucher 😒

Pop round " Hi CF I'm fuckyoumorrisons. Thanks so much for taking in my tesco shop I've just popped round to pick it up.Not sure why the driver didn't deliver it to me directly but never mind I'm here now"

See how they react!!!

KatherineJaneway · 14/03/2020 13:53

Did you not get a full refund?

listsandbudgets · 14/03/2020 13:53
