My shopping got delivered to the wrong address

My shopping got delivered to the wrong address, and I'm so upset about it! Was really looking forward to it. They told me what the person looked like and the colour of their door.. honestly she took all those bags knowing that the shopping wasn't for her, it just baffles me. How can you do that? I've had takeaway drivers try to deliver food that was meant for my neighbours or someone else but always told them I didn't order it. Some people are just scum. Been doing online shopping for years now and most drivers call if they can't find my house.. but this idiot driver aghhh I'm so pissed off 😡

And you with the white door, if you're reading this then shame on you!

Because they didn’t know it was someone else’s ....

Namechange4nowt45 · 14/03/2020 16:39

My ex sil was a thieving cow, used to accidentally take in shopping knowing she hadn't orderd or paid for a food shop. She would actually be smug and laugh cheers asda for my free shopping Hmm

TheQueef · 14/03/2020 16:42

It's bagless now and comes in crates?
Do Morrison's do bags?
Can't believe someone decanted £80 of grocery shopping in and didn't notice anything odd, even a cleaner.

Obviouspretzel · 14/03/2020 16:48

Come on. What's the chances that they didn't know? It's possible I'm sure but it's pretty unlikely. They've almost certainly ripped the piss.

Maybe (probably not) - she was waiting for a supermarket delivery and is puzzled why there are so many substitutions?

SudokuQueen · 14/03/2020 17:15

Because they didn’t know it was someone else’s ....

If it's not theirs, it's someone else's? Hmm

Plus these deliveries come with a receipt and list of items don't they? Tescos does so assuming the others do something similar. It's quite easy to check it, see it's not your name or address and say so.

There isn't much of an excuse to take someone's delivery and do nothing about it, if it was a genuine mistake. This person is just a cheeky shit.

Telling you the door was white is a standard way of fobbing you off that they actually took note! This has happened a couple of times to me and people I know, they always say the door was white in an effort to shut you up! But anyway, as others have said, it's actually easier than you think for someone to take in a delivery in a busy household (maybe housemates who don't see each other every day, cleaning lady, nanny etc) do don't assume someone did it maliciously. The supermarket have given you a voucher and are redelivering your order. I would move on.

Fuckyoumorrisons · 14/03/2020 17:28

@GreenWheat yes I have moved on, waiting for my refund. I don't understand why they would lie about the door being white to shut me up?

sudoku .... as I said earlier .., IF they were waiting for their own delivery they would take in the order. IF someone in the household assumed their parent or partner had placed the order, they would take it in.

My kids would just take the order, assuming I had placed one. They wouldn’t look at the invoice, they’d just chuck it on the bench.
