OH is lovely, wonderful caring attitude and fantastic with my DD

Anyway, he has a picture of his mum above our bed. We’ve been living together for 4 years now, and it makes me really uncomfortable 😂
I adore MIL, she’s a lovely lady and we have a fantastic relationship, it just makes me feel uneasy when we are ‘doing stuff’ that I can see a picture of her looking at me.
It’s a lovely photo, would love to have it in our lounge or kitchen...

AIBU to suggest to DP that maybe we could relocate MIL? Want to raise the issue but not cause offense 😬

You could put different MN MIL pictures up.

Sorry everyone! It’s been a manic day here.

MIL has been relocated, DP probably just as horrified as me 😂 She’s now in the kitchen judging my cooking skills

Yeah that would freak me out as well. Nothing at all wrong with a photo of his Mum being displayed but not above the bed. YANBU to ask him to move it to maybe the sitting room?

I suggest now you put a weird picture of something in her old place every week and see if he notices. I’d start with space sloth.

Slightly different, my partner is from Europe her mums husband is Austrian, they was living at his mum and dads house, we went to visit, on one of the walls was a picture of a german soldier from world war 2, i asked who it was, it was the dads brother, he died in the battle of stalingrad, the worse thing about the photo, was his uniform, im a world war 2 nut, he had a skull and crossbones emblem, which is the totenkopf (death heads division). Just Google them, they was one of the worst ss division's, i was a littlw shocked that the photo was up
