Sex and showers

NC. Husband showers once a day, in the evening. He refuses to have sex with me after he's had a shower, because he doesn't want to get sweaty and dirty after showering. Apparently showering again is out of the question.

I don't want to have sex with him before he showers, because he wants foreplay and I don't fancy going 'down there' after he's been almost 24 hours without a shower. If I try and have sex with him after he's had a shower, he says I'm only doing it because he's clean now.

I shower morning and evening, and don't like foreplay on myself unless I've recently washed.

This all sounds so ridiculous but sex has become a rare occurrence because of this. Not sure if I'm being OCD and unreasonable or if he is?

Have none of you ever had sex first thing in a morning just as your waking? Or spontaneously or do you stop and say “hang on I need a shower?”

Gosh! I wonder how people in the ‘olden days’ had sex? Even in the 1970’s a daily shower was not the norm.
Just admit your relationship is over! I’d still want to screw my Dh if we were stranded on a dessert island with no showers.

What PeterPan says! Daily showers are quite a new thing lol. My DP doesn't shower before we DTD, which is often in the morning, but he isn't expecting a BJ either.

People used to have one bath a week when I was a kid! People still used to make babies. Seems more of a sex issue than a hygiene one tbh.

People got over body smells, a lot of people had body odour. Ciggies covered it up. But men would come in from work and have a sink wash.
Running a flannel over your bits, would have been done. You'd boil a kettle.

This limiting of washing is really strange, in this day and age.

OP, i agree that there's a, reason he is avoiding sex. He's being disrespectful and it would get to the deal breaker stage, if it was me.

Sex with unwashed DH is one thing, putting a penis that he's been pissing out of all day without washing in my mouth is another one entirely.

Both of you have a wash beforehand. Not a shower just a wash.

Some interesting points on UTI's. When I was a student midwife, a consultant gynaecologist came to give us a talk. She had a PhD, and specialised in womens sexual health. She said the single best thing that a woman can do after sex is to do a wee.

DH has to shower (and wash his hands) before anything can happen - he only has to look at me lasciviously and I get a UTI (regardless of peeing). We used to be more spontaneous, but then I’m out of action in pain for days waiting for antibiotics to kick in. Rather takes the fun out of it.

IIRC science tells us that there are far more dodgy bacteria in our mouths than on our genitals. And nobody would expect their partner to clean their teeth before kissing them .... would they?
