Just had a seizure!

I'm a bit freaked out. I've had a few drinks but not hammered. I got up to hug DH and collapsed, started shaking/ fitting.

I'm ok now, in bed with glass of water. But not sure why this happened? I have had some dizziness recently when standing up / bending down. Eat well, healthy weight.

Any ideas?

Ring Dr

n00bMaster69 · 07/03/2020 23:31

Brain tumour?

Why ask people on MN? You need medical advice, phone nhs 111.

Onceuponatimethen · 07/03/2020 23:31

You need to call 111 I think - first seizure should be checked out

kazza446 · 07/03/2020 23:31

Ring 111 op. I think you need to see a medical professional for some advice

LuluJakey1 · 07/03/2020 23:32

You need to see a Dr. Don't ignore it.

Disabrie22 · 07/03/2020 23:32

Sounds like it could be Vasa Vagal Syncope - go to the Syncope Trust And Reflex Anoixic Seisures charity - STARS for information.

Wigeon · 07/03/2020 23:32

Did you lose consciousness? Did others observe you shaking while you were unconscious? Did the shaking start immediately or after you’d been out for a bit? You can get shaking with “normal” fainting (anoxic response), which isn’t actually a seizure, but if this has never happened to you is definitely go and see your GP.

notangelinajolie · 07/03/2020 23:32

Where is your husband? Has he called 111?

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal · 07/03/2020 23:33

Id be off to A&E if it was me.

Wigeon · 07/03/2020 23:34

Do you still feel dizzy?

imamearcat · 07/03/2020 23:34

My husband is now snoring next to me!Hmm

Mumof1andacat · 07/03/2020 23:34

You at least need to speak to 111

imamearcat · 07/03/2020 23:37

Not a seizure as such but I have felt similar before when I've had a drink when standing up etc. And had to sit down. Wondered if a blood sugar / pressure thing??

OP posts:
imamearcat · 07/03/2020 23:37

I feel fine now.

n00bMaster69 · 07/03/2020 23:40

Well, are you going to get medical advice or just seek attention on here for a while?

Lifeasweknow · 07/03/2020 23:42

Is this real? If I collapsed and started fitting in front of my husband he would be dragging me to A&E or at least call 111.

Wigeon · 07/03/2020 23:42

Sounds like it could be a normal faint, but hard to tell over the internet, and only a doctor is going to be able to tell. There are several possible causes for your symptoms. I think A&E would be an over reaction, assuming you continue to feel normal. Unexplained loss of consciousness should always be followed up, and so I’d still suggest GP next week.

PointlessUsername · 07/03/2020 23:42

Was it a seizure? I would get it checked out. Call 111?

wtftodo · 07/03/2020 23:43

Seek medical advice. You will probably get a neuro referral which could take months. But for me, it was fainting triggered by low blood sugar which presented as a very violent fit.

ineedaholidaynow · 07/03/2020 23:43

If you had a fit why didn't you seek medical advice straight away?

imamearcat · 07/03/2020 23:44

He just woke up briefly and I said if I should ring 111 and he said he thought it was just that I stood up quickly and should maybe see GP!?

Sorry for 'attention seeking'

OP posts:
imamearcat · 07/03/2020 23:46

I think I probably just fainted. Am seeing the GP next week so will mention in then

pollyhampton · 07/03/2020 23:46

WTF? You phone 111 and wake your DH up. Do not underestimate this. I can tell you the worst case scenario if you want.

blackpinkinyourarea · 07/03/2020 23:47

Ring 111

Grandmi · 07/03/2020 23:49

TBH you have probably had too many drinks and you need to eat ,and drink a glass of water ...sleep well!\
