Just had a seizure!

I'm a bit freaked out. I've had a few drinks but not hammered. I got up to hug DH and collapsed, started shaking/ fitting.

I'm ok now, in bed with glass of water. But not sure why this happened? I have had some dizziness recently when standing up / bending down. Eat well, healthy weight.

Any ideas?

Have a Biscuit before bed op.

MyfanwyMontez · 08/03/2020 00:24

Please make sure you do discuss it with your doctor. I had a seizure and it was treated as a mini stroke , several seizures later I was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
It was only on the insistence of my GP that they discovered this.

Skierrdery · 08/03/2020 00:24

No point talking to a drunk person.

SurpriseSparDay · 08/03/2020 00:24

I, at least, am keen to see @pollyhampton’s worst case scenario added to those already offered.

Perhaps the OP might take another glance through the thread before going to sleep ...

BudgieHammockBananaSmuggler · 08/03/2020 00:26

Another Biscuit for you. Quite an annoying post for those of us with genuine worries about epilepsy / seizures.

Skierrdery · 08/03/2020 00:27

SurpriseSparDay She's probably comatose already. Be that from the drink or whatever caused the seizure is anyone's guess.

Orangesox · 08/03/2020 00:29

Aside from the fact you’re being monumentally naive thinking it’s “normal” to have a fit; I would sincerely hope that you’re not going to be getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle prior to you seeking appropriate medical attention for this?

Struggling to see what you wanted to achieve from your post when you’re so breezy about the whole thing Hmm

Skierrdery · 08/03/2020 00:30

It's the drink talking Orangesox.

imamearcat · 08/03/2020 00:30

Sorry. Didn't mean to piss people off. But not much concern being shown in RL and not in a hurry to call an ambulance, which is the only way I would get anywhere right now.

If any other concerns will call 111 straight away.

MyfanwyThanks for you too. Life is properly crap sometimes isn't it.

imamearcat · 08/03/2020 00:31

When did I say I would get behind the wheel? Jeez guys give me a break I was just concerned that's all!!

Skierrdery · 08/03/2020 00:32

They have things called taxis too.

Skierrdery · 08/03/2020 00:33

Ill health funnily enough can hit at the most inconvenient of times.

Skierrdery · 08/03/2020 00:34

If you have epilepsy you can't drive. Nobody suggested that you'd drive tonight.

MrsEricBana · 08/03/2020 00:36

You do need to ring 111 and chat it through, you know that right? Sorry your dh is rubbish.

Glaciferous · 08/03/2020 00:36

My friend has a brain tumour. She is dying. The first symptom was a seizure, just saying. Please get help, in the morning if you can't do it now.

jmcg2015 · 08/03/2020 00:37

Seriously your post makes no sense, that's why people are pissed. Your first post invites concern, you made the situation sound dramatic. You then went on to undermine your own post. People then naturally start to disbelieve you. They way you are acting now suggests you did not have a seizure or fit at all, not least because if you did you wouldn't know, unless your DH told you - if he suspected such, he would have called 999 right away. So sorry, your story and reaction don't add up at all, and it's cruel to act in this kind of way

imamearcat · 08/03/2020 00:38

I appreciate everyone's concern but no need for the sarcastic comments at what is obviously not a great time!

OP posts:
jmcg2015 · 08/03/2020 00:38

Hang on, her DH is not rubbish, he is acting exactly how she is acting, that's not fair at all

TheoriginalLEM · 08/03/2020 00:38

Gosh, people can be unkind

MyfanwyMontez · 08/03/2020 00:38

I know you are concerned but I wish your husband would be more concerned. My husband would be ringing someone to take me to hospital as soon as I went into seizure.

ineedaholidaynow · 08/03/2020 00:38

So will you not drive until you have seen the GP (assuming you do normally drive)?

Thinkingabout1t · 08/03/2020 00:39

Please do phone 111 or see your GP tomorrow, OP. It may well be something minor, but you need to know. Good luck.

ineedaholidaynow · 08/03/2020 00:40

I would like to think my DH would have phoned for medical advice if he saw me having a seizure, not got to bed.

Lynda07 · 08/03/2020 00:40

Drink can do that. Happened to me a few years ago, scared my husband. I stopped drinking so much and no more seizures. You may think you only had a few but was probably more than that - what were you drinking?

The Emergency Depts of hospitals regularly have young people, students, being brought in because of seizures due to bingeing on alcohol.
