Quite a pricey one but a snack nonetheless. Not ham that’s earmarked for sandwiches etc.

Why not?

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 06/03/2020 19:30

Most days when I get home I have several slices of ham rolled up and dipped in salad cream or mayo. Excellent and legitimate snack

Weregoingonanadventure · 06/03/2020 19:30

Well, not a whole packet but a few slices of ham can be a snack.

tryingtoloseweightnow · 06/03/2020 19:30

A whole packet?

Stabbitha · 06/03/2020 19:30

A packet of salami milano is my favourite snack.

hereiamagain84 · 06/03/2020 19:31

Eat ham as a snack every day ! Probably just a slice or 2

BillieEilish · 06/03/2020 19:32

A whole packet of ham as a snack? Nope, not unless you are running spinning classes or something.

FrogFairy · 06/03/2020 19:32

I quite like few slices of ham spread with cream cheese and rolled up.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 06/03/2020 19:34

Those wee packs of salami rolled round sticks of cheese, proper train snack with a gin in a tin that is.

TheSheepofWallSt · 06/03/2020 19:34

Yeah course it can.
I like to roll ham around slices of cheese and dip in chutney personally. Often have that instead of dinner (or half a pack of snacking).

AriadnesFilament · 06/03/2020 19:35

Course it can.

elessar · 06/03/2020 19:36

Some packs of ham are only 4 or 5 slices.

So yes perfectly legitimate snack!

Littlebluetruck · 06/03/2020 19:37

Yes, definitely.

ClaudiaWankleman · 06/03/2020 19:42

Sliced ham is about 160 calories per 100g. Of course a packet can be a snack.

Waiting for the influx of MNers who’ll tell us they only have the appetite for some wilted spinach and a singular boiled egg all day.

BillieEilish · 06/03/2020 19:44

Am I allowed my opinion @claudia?
Thanks.
I wouldn't have a whole packet of ham 'for a snack' no. Not ever.

LouisaJenny · 06/03/2020 19:48

Yeah for sure. I have it often. Also slices of cucumber wrapped with ham are perfection.

Yestermost · 06/03/2020 19:50

I do have it as a snack but limit it as by oncologist friend who is pretty easy going has warned me off processed meat.

Yestermost · 06/03/2020 19:50

My not by

loutypips · 06/03/2020 19:51

Depends how big the packet is!

JuniperSling · 06/03/2020 19:52

YANBU. Why, has somebody told you that it's bad?

Hmmmm2018 · 06/03/2020 19:52

Glad to hear I am not alone in raiding the Ham for a snack, like the idea of dipping in salad cream.

TheThingWithFeathers · 06/03/2020 19:52

It wouldn't be my snack of choice but you go for it!

iMatter · 06/03/2020 19:54

My teenage sons regularly have a packet of ham (each) when they come home from school

BillieEilish · 06/03/2020 19:54

depends as others say, on how big the packet is and how much shit is in it.

Lots of ham I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Processed crap.

Some ham is wonderful (and costs a fortune)

ClaudiaWankleman · 06/03/2020 19:55

It is ridiculous to say that unless you spin all day you can’t afford 200 odd calories on a snack.

You are entitled to an opinion but you’re not entitled for it to be unchallenged.
