I’m not talking about food/drink.

You’d take a postcode off a colleagues desk, rip it up and bin it?

Not usually...
... but I’ll definitely do it to you if you don’t answer my questions Grin

Gazelda · 06/03/2020 19:29

Do you knows nod is it OP? Or why?
What are you going to do about it?

adaline · 06/03/2020 19:29

#attentionseeking

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 06/03/2020 19:31

Was it a calendar with photos of topless men for each month? Cos I did indeed chuck my colleague’s ‘hot tottie’ calendar in the bin.

Largeyellowdaffodil · 06/03/2020 19:31

pet ashes?
nail clippings?
snooty hanky?

LivingTheThighLife · 06/03/2020 19:31

It was something like a postcard, photograph etc ... something small and personal that was given to me.

Ant farm?

Wormery?

Pet rat?

Gimp mask?

egginabap · 06/03/2020 19:33

Did you ask them WHY they did it?

WalkingDeadTrainee · 06/03/2020 19:33

There was nothing offensive about it.
You may think so. ..

Was it a framed photo of you mid birth from Dr angle?
Postcard with one of that pictures where depending on angle you see either an object or a vag?
Photo of your DH your colleague recognised as his/her ex boyfriend/girlfriend (or more seriously a bully from school?
Boudoir style photo?

Catting · 06/03/2020 19:34

I bet it was a card, like birthday or anniversary. If you keep them for ages, they get annoying. I bin mine the day after.

MashedPotatoBrainz · 06/03/2020 19:35

There was nothing offensive about it.

In your opinion. Others may think otherwise but seeing as you're being all secret squirrel about it we'll never know if YABU or the purpose of this thread.

hereiamagain84 · 06/03/2020 19:35

Was it a thank you card ? We would have these sitting around our office and yes people do periodically throw them out every one can’t be kept indefinitely. I am definitely not the thrower out though as my desk is a mess!

Penis beaker?

Anotheruser02 · 06/03/2020 19:37

Could they have mistaken it for junk mail/ promotional type materials? My desk gets piled up with crap like that from franking companies, printing services, wholesalers etc, some of them look glossy and could be postcard like.

PleasePassTheCoffeeThanks · 06/03/2020 19:38

Why did they do it?????

Ninkanink · 06/03/2020 19:38

If it was an item that belonged to you then your colleague was completely out of order to remove it and bin it.

If it could have been construed to be offensive then the colleague should have mentioned it to the relevant manager and let it be dealt with through the proper channel(s).

I’m going to take your word for it that there was nothing offensive about it, and in that case I would have been absolutely livid had it been done to me, and colleague would have been told to return it to me. If it had been binned to the extent that it could not be returned I would have reported him to HR for theft. If it was a dearly loved item I would have reported to the police too.

Ninkanink · 06/03/2020 19:39

*or her.

7salmonswimming · 06/03/2020 19:39

Do you get that you won’t get a straight answer BECAUSE IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU’RE BLOODY TALKING ABOUT??

Cherrysoup · 06/03/2020 19:40

Have you spoken to the person who did it and found out why they did it?

Catting · 06/03/2020 19:42

Ooh....was it a smug 'thank you' card from a customer?? Being displayed as a reminder that you are The Best person in the office?

LivingTheThighLife · 06/03/2020 19:43

Was it one of these dolls?

viques · 06/03/2020 19:44

OK! It's in the bin (whatever the fuck it is). We know about that, but what we want to know now since you are not going to tell in case we all come and stand outside your window and point ,is what happened next.

So what did you say?
What did they say?
Was there swearing, tears, staplers at dawn?
Was HR involved?
Is the office split between you and taking sides?

Have you spat in their coffee cup yet?

You had us at AIBU, but you need to follow through OP, you are up against weird kids names, hand gel angst, parking wars and Mothers in law from hell. It's hard life on MN, if you want to get on trending you have to give us a little treat to keep us sweet.
