I'll start:
-large bodies of water (hate swimming)
-those moving walkways at airports (?!)
-large taps/plug holes

Hairs in food
Finding a bone in a fish which is —supposed— to be boneless

CarolinaPink · 05/03/2020 20:23

Those who mentioned b*ttons... me too! So glad to meet others with the same phobia, though Googling has told me in the past I'm not alone. It's been a lifelong problem for me. I've learned not to tell people in case they try to play on it, as happened when I was a child :(

Animum2 · 05/03/2020 20:23

I have a vomiting reflex when i see or hear somebody vomiting it makes me dry heave

Eckhart · 05/03/2020 20:23

@Lordfrontpaw I can see how 8 upside down could feel quite oppressive. Is that what you mean?

Jellykat · 05/03/2020 20:23

Dripping taps

TAKESNOSHITSHIRLEY · 05/03/2020 20:24

i wouldnt say phobia as such as im not scared but it would be enough for me to walk away from a person.,cross the street or turn over the channel

i hate facial hair it turns my stomach

a bit of stubble i can cope with but anything longer or thicker literally makes my stomach turn and makes me wrinkle my nose in disgust

the last few years of the beard craze and not bloody shaving i bloody hate and cant wait till its over

Lordfrontpaw · 05/03/2020 20:24

Eckhart - thank you! Yes - as if I can’t catch my breath. It’s bloody odd.

Tunnocks34 · 05/03/2020 20:25

@NotNegan when I was pregnant My craving was to eat soggy wet tissue Blush

I was diagnosed as anaemia soon after and promptly given a blood transfusion which stopped it!

CarolinaPink · 05/03/2020 20:27

@ItchyScratch OMG the duvets... terrible! I can't use them. Have recently found a place that sells them with metal poppers.

As for imagining them in your mouth shudder me too! Makes me feel really sick. Just horrible!!!

(I don't mind metal ones, btw - it's plastic that freaks me, particularly light coloured (white/cream etc).

Gimmeashake · 05/03/2020 20:27

@Eckhart yes I too am drawn to torturing myself with hideous hole pictures Grin The worst one is a picture of a hugely magnified close up of a very weird bug thing. I forget the name but occasionally have a masochistic urge to google it!

xQueenMabx · 05/03/2020 20:29

People cutting their nails with nail clippers. It makes me feel sick just thinking about it. I have to file mine!

Meggie2008 · 05/03/2020 20:29

Cows. Get out my life please.

Falcor40 · 05/03/2020 20:29

Snogging....makes me want to vomit and faint

CarolinaPink · 05/03/2020 20:30

Agree on snogging, btw. Disgusting Confused

Bunnybigears · 05/03/2020 20:31

Wardrobes, I cant open wardrobes. I've taken the door off mine completely. Who knows what might be in there!

AnotherMurkyDay · 05/03/2020 20:33

@xQueenMabx

I'm the opposite I cannot stand nail files.

Vomiting/vomit

Redyoyo · 05/03/2020 20:35

I think i have major sensory issues, i have phobias of loads of things such as butterflies, wooden spoons and holes.
I also get seriously freaked out by people rubbing their feet on a carpet and by touching grout between tiles!

Minxmumma · 05/03/2020 20:35

Miss Piggy..... always really gruesome nightmares, can't stand the voice..... just no

Verbena87 · 05/03/2020 20:37

Driving

Being sick

Right now woodworm and roof leaks (in process of selling our 18th century gorgeous-but-too-small house and feeling antsy about the building survey)

HarrietThePi · 05/03/2020 20:38

It's not unusual but I think it's excessive. I'm scared of spid ers the extent that I struggle to write or say the word, and I'm scared of living on my own because I don't know what I'd do if one came in the house. I scream like a lunatic if I see one and I can't control it.

Verbena87 · 05/03/2020 20:38

Oh god also sand/grit in food. I am fanatical about not getting eggshell in cake/omelette, and washing greens/leeks.

jaggynettle · 05/03/2020 20:39

I'm scared of fish 🙈 live/dead doesn't matter- I'm absolutely terrified of them. I can eat fillets of fish as long as there's no head/tail/scales. I'm terrified of one brushing past me in the sea and get anxious in stores like Pets at Home in case the tanks burst and they're all flapping and flailing about. Even writing this is giving me the shivers 🐟
