Not the bloody fridge! Just had to hunt it down in the kitchen for my turkey dinosaurs and it’s in the fridge!

I think cupboard as its where it was always kept when i was growing up, but i have been overuled by DH and DC who insist fridge. Mind you i think i heard a study about it on the news a week or so ago that proved me right!!

@TheVanguardSix high five I am also American and wondered if I should put that it as a disclaimer. I doubt it's actually dangerous to leave ketchup out of the fridge (my in-laws do), but just thinking of that weird brownish, slightly degraded quality that unrefrigerated condiments get makes my stomach turn.

Ketchup goes in the cupboard (or worktop/ table) The whole point is that it's a preserve

I wouldn't buy the travesty of reduced sugar/ salt versions either artificial sweetner on your chips?

Cupboard, surely, it's full of sugar, salt and vinegar.

Although with all these healthy versions, who knows.

I have had to train DH not to put it in the fridge, he doesn’t even eat it and kept putting it in the fridge.

I think this may have been in QI too, high vinegar content means fridge not necessary.

That article says maple syrup should be kept in the fridge. I only buy that about once a year and keep it in the cupboard. It's fine.

Possibly because no one’s ever gotten food poisoning from ketchup.

My ex-husband used to irritate me telling me to keep ketchup in the fridge, but I resolutely ignored him and kept it in the cupboard. That was until I unscrewed the lid of a squeezey bottle I’d just used and it was full of mould and I hadn’t even had it that long. So now, my ketchup always goes in the fridge!

I don't even keep it in the cupboard, it sits in a tray on our dining table with all the other sauces and condiments. Mayo stays in the fridge though.

Mayo doesn't enter the house, DP and I decided we were each allowed one total food veto to ban something from the house and I chose mayo for mine 😂 DP chose bananas.
