Not the bloody fridge! Just had to hunt it down in the kitchen for my turkey dinosaurs and it’s in the fridge!

YABU: should be in the fridge
YANBU: someone in your house needs talking to

Tomato sauce - stuff that goes on pasta

Ketchup - made of tomatoes and goes on chips

Red sauce - some kind of fake ketchup/cheap bottled sauce that is not proper ketchup

Heinz is no longer proper ketchup due to the changed flavour and ingredients a few years back, so has been relegated to red sauce or in our case, the bin, along with the shite you get from MacD's, I think it is flavoured with spices and celery.

Asthenia · 02/03/2020 17:39

We have always kept ours in the cupboard - ketchup should be room temperature, not icy cold! Just wrong.

Lordfrontpaw · 02/03/2020 17:42

Mine lives upside down resting on the side of our knife block (it is slanted).

Juanbablo · 02/03/2020 17:53

Fridge!

Clutterbugsmum · 02/03/2020 18:00

Mine in cupboard along with all my other pickles and condiments. Have never had food poisoning from any of them. I even keep homemade jams in the cupboard once opened.

Eggs on the kitchen side

Weebitawks · 02/03/2020 18:03

No no no no no. It goes in the bloody fridge. God when my sister and I used to go to my Nana's, her cupboard ketchup made us feel sick. Always gets those dry minging bits

CaptainPovey · 02/03/2020 18:09

Sauce caddy; do I need one?

Laurendelight · 02/03/2020 18:12

Less additives mean it needs to live in fridge.

Mimilamore · 02/03/2020 18:20

Fridge but my husband says out as he can't taste things when they are cold...

xQueenMabx · 02/03/2020 18:35

Fridge once opened

AlpacaGoodnight · 02/03/2020 18:40

Ketchup and brown sauce in the cupboard, mayonnaise in the fridge!

TrippingOnSunshine · 02/03/2020 18:43

Always kept it in the cupboard and my mum did as well. Never had or have heard of anyone getting food poisoning from ketchup. Having said that a bottle doesn't last long in my house so not like it's sat for ages. Can't believe most people keep it in the fridge! What about brown sauce then?!

Dieu · 02/03/2020 18:46

Fridge. I must be honest though OP, I'd rather not have it cold. So you're just a teeny bit unreasonable, but not much Grin

Jenniferturkington · 02/03/2020 18:46

Fridge once opened.
Peanut butter in the cupboard though.

cushioncovers · 02/03/2020 18:49

Fridge

Sh05 · 02/03/2020 18:49

All these labels that say fridge are rubbish, Cupboard is fine, these are preserves, not fresh food, I have never had ketchup or may go off, or pickles and other preserves. They are full of chemicals anyway, just covering their backs

Mayo that's not been in fridge can definitely give you food poisoning as it contains egg!

winterchills · 02/03/2020 18:53

Cupboard if unopened then fridge!

pourmeanotherglass · 02/03/2020 18:57

On the table with the salt and pepper

woodchuck99 · 02/03/2020 19:02

It used to be okay in the cupboard but nowadays has less salt and other stuff in it so needs to be in the fridge once opened.

HaddawayAndShite · 02/03/2020 19:05

Cupboard and I’ve got a stomach of steel. And a pantry with a cold slab so it’s just as good as a fridge anyway.

m0therofdragons · 02/03/2020 19:18

Fridge, because that is what the bottle says and I'm a stickler for rules!

Bayleaf25 · 02/03/2020 22:58

Cupboard and we’ve never seen mould or been ill. My Nan and DM kept it in the cupboard too (so at least 40+ years of being fine - maybe we’ve just been lucky).

Doubletrouble99 · 02/03/2020 23:08

Cupboard for us but then I have no worries about it going off anyway as DS has it with nearly every meal!

MadameBee · 02/03/2020 23:10

Fridge

TheVanguardSix · 02/03/2020 23:12

I'm American. Fridge all the way. Grin
Though my FIL kept his salad cream in the cupboard. Confused
He did live to 90 though.
