Saw Noel in Priscilla a fair few years ago (6 maybe?)

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 01/03/2020 01:02

Yes they were made on some tv show. Popstars? Liberty X were the other band weren’t they?

Darius Danesh? I had his single “colourblind” Grin I remember his ridiculous Britney rendition

Jinx2020 · 01/03/2020 01:11

I saw Darius on the short lived West End show From Here to Eternity a couple of years ago . . . Think he does more theatre work.

Honeyned · 01/03/2020 01:13

Oh my god yeah! That Britney hit me one more time! Last I heard he was with the primrose hill gang and going out with daisy lowe!

I'm sure I read somewhere that Danny was so disillusioned by the experience that he didn't even try to remain famous, but went happily back to his old life.

Chouxalacreme · 01/03/2020 01:18

Darius stared at my huge pregnant boobs once .
Letch

magicstar1 · 01/03/2020 01:21

I saw the show Fuuny Girl a couple of years ago and spent the whole first half wondering who the lead man was. It was Darius and he was fantastic in it.

Honeyned · 01/03/2020 01:24

Urgh @choux gross where was that?!
@cantthinkofauniquename I heard his mum was an 'escort ' but that was ages ago. I don't think I'd recognise him if I saw him now

@magicstar1 no denying he's talented!

Lucky me . He’s lucky my husband was walking in front it was very blatant

Confuzzlediddled · 01/03/2020 01:45

Danny tours the Holiday camps with a soul show, I saw him at (whispers) pontins in Lowestoft a couple of years ago, it was something like soul sensations... I was a bit drunk so am shady on the details 😁

Lynda07 · 01/03/2020 01:46

'Hearsay' were lovely.

Darius is gorgeous.

butwhateverfor · 01/03/2020 01:48

I definitely would with Darius.

Queenofpi · 01/03/2020 01:51

I now have "Pure and Simple" running through my head! Stupid jukebox brain!

Ithinkitcouldbeme · 01/03/2020 01:56

Their first album was the first one I ever bought! I would have been about 10 I think

Propagandalf · 01/03/2020 02:04

I met Darius! He performed in Glasgow in 2004. Tall guy, at least a full foot taller than I am! Peter Andre was performing as well.

Wasn't a fan of Hear'Say though. Perhaps I'm comparing them too much with other artists from the same era (early 2001), but I think Limp Bizkit Rollin', Wheetus's Teenage Dirtbag and Gorillaz's Clint Eastwood were much better songs.

Danny was on The Voice a few series ago when it was on the BBC, I don’t think the chairs turned for him. Darius did pretty well for himself at the time, I remember when he got booted off by the manager who looked like Larry Grayson, Nigel something or other and he said something along the lines of “within the next 5 years I will have a number 1 album” I’m not sure if his album made number 1 but I bought it and it was brilliant, some great tracks, I’m surprised he didn’t go further actually.

Honeyned · 01/03/2020 02:44

@bettyto think he was called Nigel Lithgow!

How odd. I was randomly thinking about Hear’say a couple of hours ago and I have no idea why Confused

Danny used to get called Shrek in the press. I felt sorry for him.

Honeyned · 01/03/2020 02:48

@Ithinkitcouldbeme me too!

My2catsarefab · 01/03/2020 02:50

Back in the days when you could download 'celebrity' voicemail 'leave a message' messages, I had Darius as mine. He said, "I think I can feel the love on this phone!"

Honeyned · 01/03/2020 02:50

@BritneyPeedOnALadybug yeah I forgot about that! Poor chap

I thought that both Hear'Say and Liberty X were very good and deserved much longer careers than they had. They were never going to cause a social revolution, but they made pleasant, catchy pop music and had talent. I thought it most unkind when, for quite some time, they were the lazy comedian's go-to "Ooh, weren't they rubbish?!" stereotype.

Nigel Lythgoe was also the one who pressurised the very-not-fat, quite new mother Kym Marsh to lose weight before she could be acceptable to him/his public. It seems that her considerable vocal talents were just a sideshow to him. It appears that he was also a good friend of a certain 'doubly surprised' singer and presenter, who was also widely believed to be, shall we say, not the kindest person to anybody she felt beneath her.

Notice how you couldn't remember Nigel's surname, but that Kym is something of a household name now.... Hmm Smile

I thought it was a great shame that Fame Academy only got two series. It actually focused on people's talent and helping them to grow personally and develop their careers (even writing their own songs rather than do yet another cover of a hackneyed standard) instead of sob stories and setting them up either to be jeered at or to become short-lived catastrophic cash cows and then sink back into oblivion when SC had wrung them dry, as seen in the format that immediately took FA's vacated place. Richard Park could be quite unpleasant at times, but he was roundly challenged by the others when he took things too far.

Alex Parks had a really beautiful voice - I would have loved to have heard a lot more from her.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 01/03/2020 04:03

*short-lived catastrophic cash cows

That was meant to be stratospheric !
