DH has just told me, at 10 to 8 at night, that we are having some old friends of his over tomorrow for breakfast! At 8am! This from the man who NEVER gets up to do our DS breakfast feed at 6.30/7am. But he can get up for people he hasnt seen for 8 years, that I have never met! I am full of rage. But perhaps IABU as I'm knackered and hormonal!

moondance19 · 01/03/2020 12:09

Sorry missed the update.

DGRossetti · 01/03/2020 12:11

And it was them that suggested the 8am! They were in the area for a wedding and are travelling home today. It was DH that responded with "well come on over for breakfast then" which still makes him an idiot.

Ah, he never expected them to accept ...

sittingonacornflake · 01/03/2020 12:14

Am I the only one who sort of wished there hadn't been any bacon in the freezer to see what OPs DH would have done?

pinkyredrose · 01/03/2020 12:19

Definitely share weekend mornings from now on, Saturday him Sunday him. Makes up for all the weekends you've done mornings on your own. Not to mention how insulting it is that he'll get up for people he hasn't seen in 8 yrs but not his own family.

dudsville · 01/03/2020 12:21

Thanks for the update OP, never before had a woman been so supported by the power of the internet to put her feet up!

bigchris · 01/03/2020 12:28

Who goes to a wedding and is up that early ?!

YoTheGinPussyOfStMawesOnThigh · 01/03/2020 12:29

Well done OP. Nothing wrong with bacon rolls. In fact I might go out an buy some bacon so can have one myself for lunch.

MaggieFS · 01/03/2020 12:33

Definitely DH's job to make bacon rolls every Sunday henceforth!

squeekums · 01/03/2020 12:33

great update op

id be looking for an alibi if dp invited breakfast guests at 8am on a sunday

KatherineJaneway · 01/03/2020 12:34

Like the passive agressive comments, well done!

datasgingercatspot · 01/03/2020 13:04

Great update! He needs to clean it all up, too. What a whazzock. I bloody hate breakfast, never eat it. Our children are the same. DH eats a bowl of cereal at the most.

tiredanddangerous · 01/03/2020 13:13

Excellent update op. Now that dh has proven himself capable you should expect a bacon roll every Sunday morning.

ShesCurly · 01/03/2020 14:38

See you at yours next Sunday at 8am OP. Tell him I like my bacon crispy 🥓 Grin

ThighThighofthigh · 01/03/2020 15:15

Porridge

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 01/03/2020 15:36

Nice result, OP.
We don't eat before Mass (which is at 11.30) so all they would have got at our house is coffee and awkwardness. That and the gentle sound of teenagers fighting over the bathroom.

Scarriff · 01/03/2020 18:03

You spund like my mother. Full of rage at the jdea of guests. What happened eventually was that prople no longer came to the house. Will it kill you to send him out for bread and eggs?

GabsAlot · 01/03/2020 18:04

good for you not doing anything-i would have stayed in bed but i guess you had the dcs to look after

would definitely be having a word about lie ins

JaneDacre · 01/03/2020 18:06

@Scarriff he told her at 8pm. Where I live the shop closes at 5:30 on Sunday and opens again on Monday! There isn't anywhere to just pop for eggs and bread.

JaneDacre · 01/03/2020 18:07

Saturday, not Sunday, doh

FromDespairToHere · 01/03/2020 18:08

Well he's proved he's capable of getting up and making breakfast now, so that's clearly his new routine on a Sunday morning!

I'm just surprised so many people profess to not have any food in their houses over the weekend to actually feed 2 more people than usual

I'm surprised you don't understand that some people are on a budget so buy exactly the right amount of food for the week...

Smilebehappy123 · 01/03/2020 18:10

This must be a joke surely what an absolute inconsiderate fool
I would be saying 'oh sorry DH just remember I said I'd meet x at the pub for breakfast ' kids can stay home as I'm sure your friends would love to see them
Cheery bye - proceed to nearest pub , get a full English, newspaper and feet up , go back after lunch once they have gone

GreenTulips · 01/03/2020 18:12

Will it kill you to send him out for bread and eggs?

Yep another woman happy to mop up a husbands pickle!

Oscarsdaddy · 01/03/2020 18:17

Total bell end

Would he tell you at 9am on a Sunday morning that he’s invited people for Sunday lunch ?

Stupid twat, tell him to fuck off with them down to Wetherspoons

HavelockVetinari · 01/03/2020 18:18

Well done OP! Now embrace the official Parent Lie In Rule and each have one weekend day to sleep in. It's a life-saver!

AlexaAmbidextra · 01/03/2020 18:40

Will it kill you to send him out for bread and eggs?

scariff. Why should he not think for himself? Why should OP be required to send him? He’s a grown man who should be able to think for himself.
