Bathroom being redone after a horrid leak in January. We have a lovely plumber and carpenter on the case.

The bathroom is currently just a bare brick room with a loo in the corner!! We have no other bathrooms in the house so we're showering at other people's place and washing hands and faces (and sometimes hair) in the kitchen...

THE BATH ARRIVED TODAY!

It's big and lovely and in the garage but I'm vvv excited.

Just come over from the other thread- I love that bath. Will you have it boxed in?

Doginahat · 04/05/2020 19:00

Yep! I think the panels around the bath will match the walls, and that should be happening this week too... I honestly can't remember what we decided before lockdown! Grin

My DS bought me one of these and although they're ugly as fuck and I can't find a classy one, I love it. It holds my kindle and face creams. I love it especially when I come home to a filled bath and on one occasion a G&T plus a little ramekin full of olives complete with toothpick for prodding. My DS is ace.

Doginahat · 04/05/2020 22:47

I don't see a pic, would you mind trying again?

I love this thread. Your bath is fantastic.

ItsLateHumpty · 05/05/2020 08:40

Don’t need to ask me twice Grin

We had a family bathroom with a seperate toilet next door. I had it all knocked in to one, which opened the space and meant I could have a ginormous (compared to previous bath) bath so I’m happy.

This is before / during...

And now...

Just waiting for the shower screen (tomorrow) and bath to be plumbed (end of week) and then it’s all mine!

Well, ok I’ll have to share with DH. But really it’s mine Grin

Pics of yours soon too fingers crossed 🤞

Oh, ItsLateHumpty that looks gorgeous! I need to think about colour pops in mine now as it's going to be mostly shades of grey and white. You've inspired me.

In boring news, The Man came over to start tiling, but when he moved the loo all the old plaster started coming down on the last untouched wall. So we're set back a few days while they plasterboard, skim, and then start the tiling. So close, and yet so far!

Ooh, we have one of those!

Ours is smaller I think

MagnificentMillie · 05/05/2020 22:28

Did you get the bath panel made to measure? I am really torn between getting one and then thinking that getting panels made etc is an added faff. We are just getting a new bath, not having the whole room re done.

MagnificentMillie · 05/05/2020 22:29

And your bathrooms all look amazing!

ItsLateHumpty · 06/05/2020 09:31

My tradie wasn’t convinced by either my 1 painted wall (well he is a tiler 😂) or the totally different colour tile in the niche.

He now gets what I was doing re pops of colour in the niche as the copper tile fits with the wood top on the vanity, and the painted grey wall can be repainted when we want to change the look of the room, without really changing anything. Bit like changing your wallpaper if you ever wanted to. Gives flexibility.

Hope your tiling starts soon - so frustrating when you have delays and all you want to do is get in there and make it lovely!

ItsLateHumpty · 06/05/2020 09:33

Meant to say @homeschoolmyarse that I love your floor tiles. I looked for something similar here, but really struggled to find something I liked.

overnightangel · 06/05/2020 10:00

The bath doesn’t look very comfortable if you can’t lie down in it Confused

Ninkanink · 06/05/2020 10:27

Because the only way to be comfortable in a bath is to lie down? Confused

Doginahat · 06/05/2020 14:47

I've never found drinking a GnT and watching Netflix very comfortable lying down Grin

Honestly, it's the best bath type I've had. For me, it works really well.

Update! Plasterboard is affixed, plywood down on the floor, and the plumber is popping in this evening to twiddle some pipes.

Good golly. The plumber just arrived. Two men in my bathroom while DH is out at work... what will the neighbours say? #sipstea#

Ooh major bath envy! I'd love a deep sitting bath like that.

homeschoolmyarse · 06/05/2020 20:33

I guess the builder just cut the bath panel to side, he was doing other jobs so I don’t remember it being an issue.
Those tiles aren’t fancy
Tons of Tiles or tile mountain

They’re Called Skyros

Doginahat · 06/05/2020 21:48

They've sorted the wall, floor, and created the bath panel ready for tiling. I feel like things might move quite quickly now.
