Aibu to be excited about my bath?

Bathroom being redone after a horrid leak in January. We have a lovely plumber and carpenter on the case.

The bathroom is currently just a bare brick room with a loo in the corner!! We have no other bathrooms in the house so we're showering at other people's place and washing hands and faces (and sometimes hair) in the kitchen...

THE BATH ARRIVED TODAY!

It's big and lovely and in the garage but I'm vvv excited.

Thank you for this, I came on here to rant, and now am inspired to go and have a bath (it's lunchtime here!)...

I'm going to have to really dig out some 'anonymous' clothing tomorrow. Never thought I'd be doing that... Maybe a t-shirt of DH's and jeans would work. This is going to be the hardest outfit I've ever planned!!

@Doginahat - done, and done! More than 80% think AINBU, and the bath was bliss... but it turns out, taking a long hot bath in the middle of the day pretty much prevents you from getting anything else done all dayConfused.

I say "nothing", I've managed to source an amazing bath for our new bathroom!!

Mm, I think this one, but without feet iyswim. It's really deep, but suits very old house... but with the metal outside to modernise a bit. You might hate it, but it will also fit the bath shelf thingy!

My only concern is that everything else will have to be builder's own brand, to make up for how expensive it is, and I'm worried it will look odd. Will have a think. Enjoy your first bath!!

Wauden never, but this is as close as I'll get! Currently typing from the bath as my son has just taken some pics for me for scale! Here are my anonymous bath pics...

You need a decent bathside table for drinks etc. And maybe a wall bracket for iPad film watching (good job I corrected that, it said “FIL watching” Envy)....Grin

Sat on the bottom, but I've got my back flush against the tall sides. When I actually ran a bath (and my goodness it was lovely) I sank down and the water was up to my chin...

Well, ZoeandChandon ...I'm afraid we're at the same point as when I last posted. Total standstill following the photo as I came down with a cough at the weekend, and then the 14 days was announced, and then social distancing came in!

Still using a nasty old loo, still brushing teeth in the sink, but we can have baths! Could have been worse; lockdown could have happened when we were in the open-plan loo stage!

I miss my proper big bath. The one in my bathroom is tiny and as bathroom is also tiny there is no chance of getting a bigger one. I am 5’9” and very long limbed and in my DM’s bath I could lie flat. Hers was put in after a few weeks of waiting for everything to dry out as the previous bath wasn’t sealed correctly.

Jealous!

NEWS! The carpenter came in today (in his mask and gloves) with tiles and drew up the next stage of plans for the bathroom!

I should have some lovely floor to show you all at the end of the week Grin

Oh! Wow. Looking good Brew Can’t wait to see it finished.

We’ve almost finished ours. Bath is in situ, but not yet plumbed, and shower screen coming this week. Like you, bath is also special... 1.7m long, 80cm wide, and 60cm deep. And black!

It’s taken for ages, but I’m also very excited to have my first bath with wine and shhhh and space.
