AIBU NOT TO SEND MY child to school where 19 children and 4 teachers have been sent home

Depends, have they been sent home because the boilers broken or because of corona virus, I'm adding that's what you're actually concerned about...

How big is the school? And why were they sent home?

A 15 child entry primary school with this level of (presumable) sickness would worry me. A 300 child entry secondary school and it would barely register.

Have they had contact with any of the affected people? If so I'd self isolate, if not I'd send them in.

I mean are they diagnosed, have they been somewhere and been exposed? on a plane? Been in Italy? China?

If this is precautionary because of the Italy trip then YABU.

And are you in the UK?

Back story they have been to Italy skiing and got home on Saturday but have been allowed to attend school on Monday and half day today

Really depends on the circumstances. If it's because those DC and staff happened to go on holiday to Italy in half term, then yes, I would say YABU, but if it's because they have had contact with someone who has been diagnosed with coronavirus then no, YANBU.

I wouldn't be bothered tbh, the isolation for this group is a massive precaution, they are very unlikely to have the virus. Really really unlikely to be an issue with yr DC going to school, esp if the people concerned are not there IYSWIM

Did they go to one of the red zones. If so should be self isolating but your children have not been anywhere close to a red zone so send them to school as per public health englands advice.
