Outside view on something that happened at a party

Hi all, just sanity checking something that happened.

Both Couple A & Couple B together for 20+ years, children etc. The couples have known each for a couple of years. Not particularly close but have always got on well in social situations. This particular night, everyone getting quite GinGin but still lucid. Wife B is paying particular attention to Husband A. Husband B is elsewhere (at the party), Wife B is sitting at Husband A's shoulder. Wife B is talking directly to Wife A, says "My husband (Husband B) really does like you (Wife A), but not as much as I (Wife B) like Husband A."

This has caused some stress in Couple A, as Husband A cannot see any issue. Is Wife A being unreasonable to think Wife B has just signalled a very "special" or "creepy" interest in Husband A and that Wife B was being somewhat insulting towards Wife A by saying this so openly? Smile.

But I WOULDN'T be too stressed about it

SaskiaRembrandt · 25/02/2020 09:14

TryToBalance It may be that Wife A makes the overtures, and then if it seems they are being reciprocated, Husband A takes one for the team by getting jiggy with Wife B, who having been made to feel like an also-ran will be enormously grateful to be included in the sex festival. If it seems Couple B aren't interested the whole thing can be put down to drunken flirting which would never usually happen.

TLDR - Wife A is the bait, Husband A is the angler.

Trust me, I've met sex people before.

Seems the Swingers are well and truly in town !

dottiedodah · 25/02/2020 09:43

Glam Giraffe Im just taking a guess here ,but surely Pampas grass "sways" in the breeze (swings )? Also Pineapples left outside seem to mean the same thing .(quick google)! Agree they are sex people ,!

I think the moral of the story is - stop socializing with them crazy B's

gamerchick · 25/02/2020 11:04

OP please stop with the wife A stuff. It's pretty obvious who you are in this.

Just stop socialising with them if they annoy you.

Beautiful3 · 25/02/2020 11:32

Definitely swingers. I don't think that I'd be inclined to socialize with them anymore.

Oblomov20 · 25/02/2020 13:40

Who knew?
Not Me
That pampas grass, was even a 'thang'!

Oblomov20 · 25/02/2020 13:42

Why doesn't anyone fucking proposition me at such parties?
Most put out!

I don't usually do the spelling police thing but its platonic, not plutonic.
