Hello all,

GoJetterBoy after 2 years of fighting has finally lost the energy to fight, I’m currently sat with him in hospital, having come in a few days earlier for pain management.

I really need a handhold right now...

@gojettergirl are you at RH? Do you live locally to the hospital? Is there anything you need?

@GoJetterGirl forget the shower, you've eaten, which is crucial. Be kind with yourself - baby steps in everything. Try to get some sleep if you can. If not, many of us are here through the night to hold your hands & listen. Lean on us, lean on people in RL. Your thread has touched me so deeply - as everyone else has attested to - and you are kept in my thoughts. I'm not religious, but I've sent up prayers to whoever will listen. 🙏🏼

I’m so sorry for your loss, OP, I can’t even begin to imagine what you’re going through. I know a parent who lost her adult child, and she wishes people would not avoid talking about him ‘incase it upsets her’, she is permanently bereaved, and wants to talk about her child, it’s not possible for her to be ‘more upset’, and people acknowledging his existence is a nice thing for her. In the far future, let others know this, grief make sure people awkwardly shrink away, not knowing what to say. No words will make you feel better. I’m absolutely certain though, that hundreds of MN users will want to hear about your boy, when you’re able to write about him.

@GoJetterGirl you don't need to shower. I've no idea what I would be doing in your situation, but I can't imagine I'd be able to drag myself into the shower.

There's no right way to behave now. Shower, don't shower, cry all night or sleep. Do whatever it takes to get through to the morning. Eating something is great.

Another stranger who has been thinking of your family on and off all day.
Last night ds (11) came through to my bedroom feeling anxious and instead of feeling irritated I realized how lucky I was and I made sure I held him until he fell asleep.
It is too easy to get caught up in nonsense but your story and the grace you have shown highlights what is really important.

He was the most outspoken little person I’ve ever known, he had so many friends, and people couldn’t help but fall in love with him,

He loved crispy bacon, apple juice and chicken satay sticks, McDonald’s nuggets, McFlurry and KFC, and milk, he drank loads of milk

He had a toy panda that went into hospital
With him, but he ended up leaving for hospital quite quickly, so Pandy never made it to be with him, I’ll be taking Pandy and his favourite storybook with me to the hospital tomorrow- “penguin” by polly Dunbar, it’s a story where the main character has the same name as him, I always told him it was a story about him
