To think the male American Airlines passenger punching the reclined seat should be charged with assault if legally possible.

I have watched the video of the man continually punching the seat occupied by Wendi Williams who had positioned it to recline. I am totally appalled that she was not given assistance when she drew the flight attendants attention to her predicament. This mans behaviour was totally unacceptable. I find it hard to fathom his behaviour and really feel a bit disturbed by it. I don't think he would have acted this way had it been a man in front... Am I being unfair in thinking this?

Nope responding to some inappropriate statements directed towards me. Not going to put up with insults to anyone on here.

A little bit like the man you are complaint about.........he's reacting to inappropriate behaviour by the litigious waste of space sitting in front of him......

*please note "gender neutral" term used, so as not to cause OP distress.

You're catching on Bikerider. Big well done SmileGrin now off for some Wine

@SiousieSoo in regard to the term "hysterical" Just because you are primarily familiar with the word being used about women, that doesn't mean everyone else has the same associations

Just saying!

Rosebel · 23/02/2020 21:13

OP I can't believe you are moaning about people being mean to you when you have been vile to those who disagree with you.

SayNoToCarrots · 23/02/2020 21:14

Christ on a fucking bicycle. The OP is mad as a box of rats, but correct on this point: hysterical is a misogynistic term (hyster from womb, like hysterectomy).

SiousieSoo · 23/02/2020 21:20

Didn't moan I explained what my retorts were based on roserebel.

Say no to carrots that's too awful and harsh. I'm totally compos mentis. Although I actually must be a bit mad to post on AIBU... anyway really must get my Wine

I can’t believe people support this abusive twat of a man.

She put her seat back up while he ate, she was fair. He got a dud seat but he took it out on her.

Bikerider2020 · 23/02/2020 21:28

@annamie we differ, I can't believe people support the litigious bitch!

Mistressofpemberly · 23/02/2020 21:43

Wow. Mumsnet never ceases to amaze me. It wouldn’t occur to me to criticise anyone reclining an airline seat. After all... it’s a reclining seat. The man had a poor seat. Unlucky but not like he has to live in it forever. First world problem.

annamie · 23/02/2020 21:48

@Bikerider2020 I hope she sues his ass and wins. He’s a cunt.

Bikerider2020 · 23/02/2020 21:52

@annamie what's she going to sue him for???

Her "bad back"
Her "distress"

Hopefully she's shown up as the ridiculous person she is!

My back hurts, so i smile and smirk?

Let's meet back here after "the massive court case", let's actually see what happens?

annamie · 23/02/2020 22:00

what's she going to sue him for???

I don’t know, you’re the one saying she’s litigious! I took your word for it. Wrongly?

Bikerider2020 · 23/02/2020 22:06

don’t know, you’re the one saying she’s litigious! I took your word for it. Wrongly?

I was going with the OPs title of he should be charged ed with a?

Wrongly?

So I presume we can agree that the op Is as mad as a box of frogs? I mean what the guck could the poor bloke be charged with?

Bikerider2020 · 23/02/2020 22:09

Guck is fuck! Grin

TheMaskedTulip · 23/02/2020 23:02

If she was really out out she would not be smirking at the camera like a loon. She’s clearly enjoying antagonising him. Selfish cow.

BusterGonad · 24/02/2020 03:40

Loving this thread.
I can't believe Wendi is a teacher, she must be fucking annoying.

daisychain01 · 24/02/2020 06:35

They both acted like 2 overgrown petulant toddlers, Unbelievable. And it was only a 2 hour flight! Just shows how rude, intolerant and entitled pexpletive are nowadays.

And the flight attendant rewarded his bad behaviour by offering him an alcoholic drink. Rigghtttt, oh well maybe it was to pacify him.

daisychain01 · 24/02/2020 06:36

pexpletive ?? Should say people

Scunnnnnered · 25/02/2020 07:17

OP, you sound like one of those people who believe a woman is AWAYS right, no matter what. Guess what? They aren’t

annamie · 25/02/2020 11:42

@Scunnnnnered no, she sounds like someone who has just watched a woman get harassed on a plane and have her seat repeatedly punched.

I remember you from the other thread telling another woman where you implied the OP should stay with her lazy husband because he may have dyspraxia. You are very strange.

ScreamingLadySutch · 25/02/2020 12:12

I am staggered how many people are on Wendi Williams side.

I can't believe how selfish she was.

Technical schmecnical. There are rights, and there is thinking of others.

You will not die if your seat is upright. His space was severely limited, why couldn't she have just considered him for two hours?

Emmelina · 25/02/2020 12:48

Not reading 17 pages of this, so if this has already been said then meh.
The force the guy is putting into “punching” the back of her seat is completely disproportionate to the amount of jiggling she’s doing. Mostly it seems he’s trying to stop the seat from moving quite so much, and she’s slamming her weight back on the chair. If he occasionally pushes back harder, good for him. She’s being a tit. He seems to be rational and calm, trying to get on with his book or whatever. We only have her word he was laying into the seat with his fists as it apparently happened before she started filming.

Rosebel · 25/02/2020 12:55

The flight attendant didn't reward his bad behaviour because
a, he wasn't behaving badly
and b, when she reclined her chair she spilt his drink so they replaced it.

ThreeAnkleBiters · 25/02/2020 13:03

Technical schmecnical. There are rights, and there is thinking of others.

Exactly this. I hate people who feel like because they have a "right" to do something it means they don't have to have any basic consideration for people around them.
