Somewhat disappointed! I was almost buying in to the Armageddon hypothesis and almost joined the stock-pilers!

Current status = Uk has to follow all the EU rules and pay a lot of money but has no say in what the rules are.
I understand this status is called "Brexit in Name Only".
The Leavers are very happy about this status.
"They knew exactly what they voted for"
So Leavers wanted BINO, obviously.

No @Vintagehearts that's what people were saying if we left without a deal, otherwise known as a hard Brexit. There was a point when it looked like that was about to happen. Instead, we're in a transition period and we are continuing as it we're in the EU for the rest of the year except that we no longer have political representation in the EU.
There's still a high chance of leaving without a deal.

Seriously though, doesn't it make you realise with great frustration and sadness how we ended up voting to leave 😪

And suuuuuuure the uk govt is going to more than make up the shortfall in research funding.

Firstly, you’re rather silly to not realise about the transition period.

Secondly nothing changes instantly but in my working areas of health care And academia I am seeing people leaving. Which if repeated around the country and only likely to get worse after next Jan of course it will have an effect.
