Just that really.

Somewhat disappointed! I was almost buying in to the Armageddon hypothesis and almost joined the stock-pilers!

OP posts:
MarieQueenofScots · 21/02/2020 18:36

Ooooft it’s awkward when an OP tries to be goady and just ends up looking like a twit.

Alsohuman · 21/02/2020 18:36

Jesus wept, are people seriously this naive?

BillywilliamV · 21/02/2020 18:37

It's quite a low bar for success there OP..and we've not gone anywhere yet.

FaFoutis · 21/02/2020 18:38

Inform yourself.

Hopoindown31 · 21/02/2020 18:38

You can keep telling them but they still don't get it. You can bet they will all be whining at the airport queues in 2021.

CalmYoBadSelf · 21/02/2020 18:38

You can rest assured that every ill that comes in future will be blamed on it. China is crippled by coronavirus which will have a knock on effect on industry, pharmaceuticals, etc but you can rest assured there'll be some ready to blame it on Brexit

bellinisurge · 21/02/2020 18:39

Mockersisrightasusual is spot on.

BillywilliamV · 21/02/2020 18:39

My theory is that God is so angry about Brexit that he has decided to just sink the country in six foot of rain water..

StarlightLady · 21/02/2020 18:40

We have not left yet. All terms and conditions apply during the transition period. All trading deals continue for this year. Except the UK has no vote.

One change on the cards, Google are likely to move your account from Ireland (EU) to the USA where Data Protection legislation is much weaker.

Deckthehallswithlotsofcake · 21/02/2020 18:41

It hasn't ended FOR YOU. Thousands of people have lost their jobs and have difficulty finding new ones as several factories closed in the same area.Thousands of farmers are having financial difficulties.

But I guess as you are still fine then that doesn't matter?

UndertheCedartree · 21/02/2020 18:44

@slipperywhensparticus - not sure on that but where I am almost all the GPs and Dentists are not from the UK. I'm in hospital now and my consultant is from the UK but the other 2 doctors aren't. None of the nurses are from the UK, only a small number of the support workers are from the UK, most of the psychologists aren't from the UK but most but not all of the OTs are English.

Sparklesocks · 21/02/2020 18:46

It’s in transition as many pp have pointed out. It was never going to be the case of the arse falling out of everything on the strike of midnight.

BMW6 · 21/02/2020 18:49

Don't be bloody daft OP. I voted to Leave and I'm embarrassed by your puerile post.

SwedishEdith · 21/02/2020 18:51

I guess this post is just to get that thread title into Active Conversations so that's all some people see. Much like Darren Grooms tweeting the same kind of sentiment to his followers. He I assume must know it's not true but has to keep stirring the pot to keep himself relevant.

VeniceQueen2004 · 21/02/2020 18:52

And this is why Brexit. People who can't think as far as the end of a paragraph on Wikipedia.

rattusrattus20 · 21/02/2020 18:55

as already pointed out, we're in a transition period, literally nothing has changed.

Humina · 21/02/2020 18:55

Oh ffs. Read something that isn't the Mail, Express or Facebook.

mumwon · 21/02/2020 19:00

medical people leaving & some ethnic (!) white (shudders at terminology) British ones are emigrating & its getting difficult to replace them. So -who is going to do your: nursing & care, medical technology, medicine & surgery, dentists, optician, seasonal agricultural workers (the farmers had problems before the E Europeans came in to save them), temporary dirty jobs that don't make enough money & that no one else wants to do or has an interest in, hospitality workers including skilled cooks etc & cleaners, driving goods & deliveries etc, building & plumbing & other skilled allied trades,
how are we going to co-ordinate with security & police in Europe & elsewhere
How is this going to effect Universities & training who EARN masses of funding from overseas students & where will the tutors & researchers & developers come from?

& most of all who is going to work on the borders? Our Government cut back on them a few years back & can you imagine how slow transiting is going to be
& that's just for starters
I cant wait for the end of the year.....

littleblackdress04 · 21/02/2020 19:02

No, that’s because the economic collapse is being saved for 11 months time!

ilovesooty · 21/02/2020 19:06

I can't imagine why someone wants to start a thread like this demonstrating how ill informed they are.

StrawberrySquash · 21/02/2020 19:16

As many people have pointed out we have left in name only so far, due to the transition period. Unless the brexiters who confidently assert 'See! Everything is fine' would be happy to see these arrangements continue indefinitely, they know that too.

littleblackdress04 · 21/02/2020 19:19

My prediction is that it will be so bad at the end of the year, the government will fall as people will wake up and see how utterly duped they have been

feetfreckles · 21/02/2020 19:21

The effect on the pound is believed to be part of the reason that HRT , asthma and blood pressure medication is in short supply

DameSylvieKrin · 21/02/2020 19:22

Look up the Dunning Kruger effect and try and be honest with yourself about where you are on that curve.

chomalungma · 21/02/2020 19:25

Just joined today and you start this......

Interesting.
