Why are you awake?..

In no way an AIBU but hey ho!

I always read these threads when I'm awake so I thought I would start one.

I am 37+3 & have been awake for an hour with the worst heartburn ever! Taken 5 rennies over the course of the evening & have drank copious amounts of milk which is doing diddlysquat!

So why are you awake?

I drunk white wine last night so now have racing heart.
DH has just made me cup of tea and given me a cuddle.

Is it your first baby?

ChelseaCat · 20/02/2020 03:36

Feeding my 7wo - you have this joy to come!!! Other than the heartburn, how are you feeling?

HeronLanyon · 20/02/2020 03:36

Fireworks in central London an hour or so ago !
Was already awake - some récent bereavements have played havoc with my sleep for a year or so.
Also had mild upset stomach from eating out earlier.
Bloody hell - ‘living my best life eh’?
Hope heartburn eases. Not pleasant.

summeryet · 20/02/2020 03:37

Remegel might help, generally only found in Boots.

I'm 39+4, have an ear infection, and am worried about the baby being breech (previously was, then turned, but I can't tell now)!

HoneyBee833 · 20/02/2020 03:38

What a lovely other half making you a cuppa at this hour!

No this is my second - though my first is 7 so it does feel like I'm doing it all again for the first time!

Not too bad overall, had a lot of water infections & pgp this pregnancy but I try to have a positive mindset.

Congratulations on your 7 week old Smile x

Funny you should ask that! Normally wake around 3am to go to the loo, but this time I'm fidgety and can't sleep. I swear the times I wear pyjama bottoms I sleep worse! They ride up, twist around, get into the uh, 'cracks' and are just irritating.

FlowerTink · 20/02/2020 03:40

Night feeds with a 6 week old here. Congratulations! Not long to go now :)

HoneyBee833 · 20/02/2020 03:40

@summeryet will look out for that!

Baby was transverse for ages then went head down but I keep convincing myself they've moved again!

@HeronLanyon sorry to hear that Sad I hope you get some peace soon Thanks

Well done - it’s so hard when you’re feeling grotty ! Mine came unexpectedly at 37+4, are you all ready?

NachoFries · 20/02/2020 03:42

I’m on my way to work as it’s 20 minutes to 7 where I am and I hate being late. But technically speaking I am up at 3.42am (GMT)

HoneyBee833 · 20/02/2020 03:42

@IWantThatName I can't sleep in pyjama trousers! My legs have to be ffrreeeee so I empathise completely!

Pinkbonbon · 20/02/2020 03:42

Oh no, I feel for you, heartburn sucks. I often find the tablets dont help mine :(

I'm just up cause I've been sleeping later and later lol. Really should go try sleep now.

ChelseaCat · 20/02/2020 03:43

@FlowerTink - the 3am feed club! Never a lonely place when MN is around!! Congrats! How are you getting on?

HoneyBee833 · 20/02/2020 03:43

@ChelseaCat I like to think we are but is anyone ever really 'ready' for the sleep deprivation 😂

OP posts:
HeronLanyon · 20/02/2020 03:45

Congrats op and everyone else up with babs.

ChelseaCat · 20/02/2020 03:46

@HoneyBee833 Eugh, tell me about it! This is my first and I was a 9 hours a night kind of girl before... anything above 4 is a success now 😂

sashh · 20/02/2020 03:48

I've just made pancakes for everyone, virtual pancakes on their way with tea and coffee.

ChelseaCat · 20/02/2020 03:48

@HeronLanyon thank you. I’m sorry to hear about your losses Flowers

frillyfarmer · 20/02/2020 03:49

Hugging the loo, again - 3rd night running.

38+5 with my second, the acid reflux has turned into late night nausea apparently. I'm secretly hoping it's an early sign of labour, although something tells me I should be so lucky 😂

Sorry you're up as well OP, acid is just the worst! Everyone is snoring peacefully in my house - even the dog! which makes my late night wakings worse!

T0rt0ise · 20/02/2020 03:50

38+3 and pregnancy insomnia! Have had a bath and some ryvita with peanut butter but sleep is still evading me Hmm Would very much like baby to arrive now so at least there's a reason for me to be awake Grin

HeronLanyon · 20/02/2020 03:50

Ta FlowersAll part of life cycle thankfully not more difficult. Am through the really awful bit and am ok but sleep eludes.

HoneyBee833 · 20/02/2020 03:51

@ChelseaCat ohhhh me too! I just love sleep 😂

@sashh thanks! That's one thing I can't wait for - a cup of tea! Even the thought of one in this pregnancy makes me go 🤢 & I normally love tea!

annabell22 · 20/02/2020 03:53

Because it's nearly 8am here and I've already taken my parents to the airport, got back home, stripped the bed they used and got it all in the washing machine.

HoneyBee833 · 20/02/2020 03:53

Oh fellow preggers not long for us now hopefully! My heartburn is making me feel like I could be sick at any minute tonight!

Totally agree with the looking forward to their being an actual reason to be awake at these silly hours!
