Does a Doctor of Life get to wear the rubber gloves?

My DH had the second day off the new school year last September. He's a primary teacher. There was nothing wrong with him whatsoever, it's just I was in hospital giving birth to our first son under extremely traumatic circumstances and I was very ill for weeks afterwards. He had to take several days off work.

Big news - life happens to teachers too.

I wonder how you'd feel, having started this horrid thread, if you went to school the next day to be told this teacher had been involved in an accident or taken seriously ill or worse.

AIBU threads are often lighthearted but not always and the underlying tone of this thread really isn't pleasant.

WOndering where you live...

A friend of mine (in a different area of the country to me...) is a teacher and is off work this week.

His wife had a baby on Monday morning and he is on paternity leave....

This can't be for real.
What a ridiculous attitude to have. Beggars belief.

HorseyWoman · 05/09/2007 14:10

Was your teacher off school sick a lot, zztown? It does show; maybe you should think about legal action.

contentiouscat · 05/09/2007 14:17

Ah well teachers are human after all - I would rather DSs teacher took a day off sick than "struggled in" and gave the whole class the runs.

Horsewoman - lol.
zztown - you is an Arse.

3andnomore · 05/09/2007 14:30

would you rather she comes to school and infects everyone else around then?
Surely, a teacher would be no good to anyone if they are feeling unwell!
