Well I looked well enough the day before I came down with food poisoning. She could have been signed off with stress and come in yesterday to sort things out... ANYTHING. How can you say she looked fine yesterday? Someone close to her may have died or been taken ill. She may have just found her winning lotto numbers. Just because she's just had six weeks 'holiday' (if that's what you think teacher's have), doesn't mean she can't feel sick in the first week in September. It's probably coincidence (and a shame to the class) that she fell ill in time for nw term.

HorseyWoman · 04/09/2007 18:45

Beg your pardon. HE.

Carrie thinks she must learn to read the whole thread first

LoveAngel · 04/09/2007 18:47

If you're sick, you should take a day off. Teachers, doctors, police officers, MPs etc included. FGS stalks off swearing under breath

zztown · 04/09/2007 19:10

Christie sorry to hear that.

Perhaps the teacher is exhausted after spending the majority of the last two weeks of his summer holidays in school preparing lessons, displays, the classroom, updating assessmemnt criteria and trying to find stuff that the cleaners "helpfully" tidied away during the first week of the holidays...

TheQueenOfQuotes · 04/09/2007 19:14

"Unless you can't drag your sorry arse to work, I think you should turn up".

yes and I bet you'd be REALLY pleased if your DC came home from school with V+D or some other "lovely" illness...........

LittleBella · 04/09/2007 19:14

Couldn't agree more Love Angel.

I can't understand why it's considered a marvellous thing to work when you're ill.

zztown · 04/09/2007 19:14

as you say "last two weeks of his summer holidays" working so must be exhausted now, poor lamb.

Maybe I'll make some soup for him to strengthen him up for the term ahead.

OP posts:
wildwoman · 04/09/2007 19:15

zztown · 04/09/2007 19:16

I am gona kick his arrrrrrssssseeeee!

OP posts:
Blandmum · 04/09/2007 19:17

yeh, because we all know that teachers only work 9- 3, and have all that holiday off

Just like doctors only working morning and evening surgery

Your waiting times must be tiny if you are so shit hot you can diagnose from just looking at someone.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 04/09/2007 19:18

ok - sickness and the runs then (I simply can't spell the "D" bit so just use the initial )

Gobbledigook · 04/09/2007 19:19

Er, what's she supposed to do if she's ill?! Is she not allowed to be ill?? How bizarre!

nell12 · 04/09/2007 19:19

How many children do you have? Think back to when you were last ill (even if it was only a cold) and how much more difficult it was to parent properly when you were feeling crap.

Now realise that this man has to look after 30 children and feel like shit.

LETS JUST SAY HE IS ILL.
WOULD YOU RATHER HE CAME INTO SCHOOL AND PASSED ON HIS GERMS TO YOUR DC??????????

lets stop the teacher bashing and get some perspective here please

Gobbledigook · 04/09/2007 19:19

That's to OP

aloha · 04/09/2007 19:20

What an unpleasant, trollish thread.

zztown · 04/09/2007 19:20

MB, Professional bantter. Don't wna to annoy you really this is not a general sweeping overview of all teachers.

FWIW: I am not a real doctor, but a doctor of life.

And just incase any doctors out there, some doctors need a double kick with both feet on the arse!

OP posts:
Blandmum · 04/09/2007 19:21

well, regardless, I get sick of this sort of thread. Very, very sick of it.

kiskidee · 04/09/2007 19:21

I think the OP is a namechanger. When she has the balls to post under her true name, then she deserves a response.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 04/09/2007 19:21

Bored teenager IMO

wildwoman · 04/09/2007 19:21

I guessed that you are a) not a doctor and think that you are b) not quite an adult yet? Bored teenage boy prehaps?

kiskidee · 04/09/2007 19:22

I guess I should have said 'her usual MN pseudonym'.

RubySlippers · 04/09/2007 19:22

zztown - unpleasant and not funny in the slightest.
