Guest left clothing - wash or not?

Posting for traffic... and will garner whether I was being unreasonable or not by the replies.

Name changed as I'd prefer this wasn't linked to my other threads.

Had a friend stay over at the weekend. They informed me hours after they left they'd left an item of clothing behind. Didn't realise they'd left it but after looking for it I found it so told them I had done so.

They asked if I could post it, I said sure... so put it in the post the next day.

The day after I got a text thanking me for the 'worn' item.

My question is... should I have laundered it before returning? This item was bright red btw, and first wear so I'm damned to risk dying my own washing pink! And I'm not doing 'dark' washing again until the weekend.

I've not replied to the text - they've got their clothing but how the fuck should I reply?!

I can't see why your overnight guest would be making a dig.
He arrived wearing underwear, and left without them. Obviously they had been worn, and even if you had wwashed them, that doesn't make them unworn merely clean.

EuroMillionsWinner · 12/02/2020 22:03

OP, when you don't call out rude pithy PA shit like this they'll do it again.

FFS, smash, I wasn't even talking to YOU! I was talking about the text he sent her, hence, addressing her, the OP, not you. Hmm Wind your neck in.

countrybumpkunt · 12/02/2020 22:04

Bloody hell absolutely not. What a cheeky fkr friend. I'd bin that friend.

FancyPants20 · 12/02/2020 22:04

What did his text say exactly, op?

EuroMillionsWinner · 12/02/2020 22:06

Just tell him then, OP. Don't let your fancying him cloud your judgement. It was kind of an off thing to say.

FancyPants20 · 12/02/2020 22:06

@EuroMillionsWinner Tbf, @smashstore has already said she misunderstood and apologized. Now, kiss and make up, you guys. Grin

MsWasher · 12/02/2020 22:08

His text read exactly "I've left my pants at yours"

I was like... where the fuck?! My parents are coming round for dinner so I need to find them before they do 😂

Which I did 👍🏼. And I told him so... and he asked me to post them which I did the next day 🤷🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
FallenAngel01 · 12/02/2020 22:09

Oh dear. Who left it behind? You? Them? It was sent back by ... you, or them?

smashstore · 12/02/2020 22:10

FFS, smash, I wasn't even talking to YOU! I was talking about the text he sent her, hence, addressing her, the OP, not you. Wind your neck in.

Hmm right.

AfterSchoolWorry · 12/02/2020 22:10

He wears red Armani under crackers!
🚩🚩 🚩

Lllot5 · 12/02/2020 22:11

Who wears red pants blimey he’s forward.

Samhradh · 12/02/2020 22:11

Seriously? It’s presumably either the first time you’ve had sex, or at least pretty early on (or you’d know what was going on)and he thinks you should be scrubbing his underpants?

Classy.

I hope the sex was good. Though I don’t think I could fancy a man who wore red Armani pants, and wanted them posted to him after a dirty weekend. Do you think they’re his Lucky Pulling Pants?

amaryl · 12/02/2020 22:13

I’d make a comment back like “you didn’t have them on for long!”

ASureSign · 12/02/2020 22:14

You are overthinking this. He was probably joking.

EuroMillionsWinner · 12/02/2020 22:14

Sam raises a good point. Anyone who expected me to wash his kecks 5 minutes in, well, that would dampen my libido entirely.

DesLynamsMoustache · 12/02/2020 22:17

Maybe he was trying to be sexy (although talking about dirty underwear isn't really the right way to go) and evoke memories of that night?! And it's just fallen a bit flat...

Ughmaybenot · 12/02/2020 22:18

He was probably joking... you know him intimately 👀 so I’d imagine you’d be able to gauge that better than us.

ShirleyPhallus · 12/02/2020 22:18

What was the exact exchange OP? I think without that you’re basically getting people to guess without knowing the full story

FancyPants20 · 12/02/2020 22:19

@MsWasher No, i meant where he mentions the item being worn.

Had you arranged to see him again?

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 12/02/2020 22:19

In that context I suspect he meant ‘worn’ as in sexy-used-pants.

He probably left them on purpose to see what you’d do!

In your position, I’d likely have washed them and told him they were available to collect on such a such a date at x time... Wink

MsWasher · 12/02/2020 22:20

Hahaha yeah I can see how it would be off putting to some... but I called him my horny devil for wearing them 🙈 this guy is fucking hot in my opinion.

I just wanted to gauge whether I was right or wrong for sending them so quick.

We made loose arrangements to meet again on 22/02, and if it was me I'd wait to get my knickers back until then Grin

But he seemed so keen to get them back... I dunno.... I just sent them straight back and it feels like he's holding it against me for not washing or laundering his pants before I returned them... like, WTF?!?!

OP posts:
FrockFrockFrockityFrock · 12/02/2020 22:26

Just say "soz, they're expensive and didn't want to ruin them or have the dye ruin my wash. Hope you wear them again for me soon, you hot thing."

Leave it at that.

houselikeashed · 12/02/2020 22:27

I don't wash other peoples clothes anymore after I found out people can be allergic to certain washing powders.

MsWasher · 12/02/2020 22:32

Oooooh @houselikeashed why is what I'm saying disappearing to you? 🤔

OP posts:
EuroMillionsWinner · 12/02/2020 22:32

He's expecting you to wash his kecks, OP. Five minutes in and he expects you to wash his kecks and post them back to you.
