Small children taking up seats

I recently attended my local walk in centre for a minor ailment, waiting time was around 3 hours. It was absolutely packed in there. I noticed that there were quite a few very ill looking adults stood as all the seats were taken. However many of the seats were taken by small children, AIBU to expect parents to put them on their laps so that adults can sit down? Another thing I noticed was people bringing 3 or 4 family members/friends with them, again taking up seats that someone who is obviously poorly could have used, AIBU?

I also don't understand why pregnant women on the tube expect a seat ... Pregnancy is natural

Is that a joke!??
Pregnancy is natural but Jesus Christ... have you any idea what some women go through while pregnant!? That comment is shocking.

@Moomin12345
Yes love, pregnancy IS natural.
So is your illness. Well, unless it's the result of a radioactive spider bite but I think that causes increased energy, not fatigue.

But you want a seat because of it and that's fair. Pregnant women should have a seat too.

You sound like one of those men who sits splay legged in the maternity ultrasound waiting area ignoring the pregnant women standing.

Yes. They're pregnant. Yes, that's natural. Yes, have some damned empathy you expect it for yourself so try treating others how you would like to be treated.

@SpaceDinosaur couldn't agree more!!!!! I also pictured the same lol.

What’s ‘natural’ got to do with anything ffs. Cancer is ‘natural’.

A broken leg is natural, but it's perhaps easier to understand why balance is an issue on crowded trains or tubes than how a pregnant body can feel unbalanced.

Some people are so entitled. The fact that your kids are fidgety does not mean they need a seat more than someone who is clearly unwell. If your child is too sick to stand or sit on the floor then you stand instead,dont leave a sick person standing up with no seat. If you have to go in a giant group only the sick person sits

It’s somewhat sad that this even has to be stated!

I can’t help cross-threading in my head to a recent thread about Britain being anti-child.

I don’t think we are. Just anti entitled selfish parents. Like those who demand a seat because their child is fidgety. And leave unwell adults to stand.
