Hay...

Listening to the wind just starting to pick up here in Suffolk.

Is it bad where you are?

I hardly feel it was replacing the old PVC door now Confused

It’s not been very good this winter to keep the drafts at bay and in summer it swells up!

North west and it's pretty grim out there. I have to drive into town shortly to drop DC2 at an activity. I was planning to walk the 20mins or so down to an exhibition while I wait for her (no parking there), but I think I might just leg it to the next door coffee shop instead.

millerjane · 09/02/2020 09:01

Anyone not secured their bins? I think they're protected by the cars and garage door. They survived that weather bomb we had a while back.

DavetheCat2001 · 09/02/2020 09:01

Windyish in S. London. Can hear it whistling down the chinneys, but no rain as yet. Most damage I've seen so far is an upturned wheelie bin at the top of the road!

Going out to a birthday lunch with the kids around 2pm.. think driving is going to be a bit hairy 😳

teablanket · 09/02/2020 09:01

Kent here, super blustery. Building works down the road and their portaloo has blown over. I feel for whoever has to clean that up!

Tutlefru · 09/02/2020 09:03

Cheshire here and it’s definitely picked up!

TheVanguardSix · 09/02/2020 09:04

West London here. I'm drinking coffee and watching my fence collapse before my eyes. Bits of the neighbours' roof have blown into our garden and the trees are twisting and blowing something fierce!

JJPC · 09/02/2020 09:05

My fences are down in Cheshire. They were pretty old though

DejaVoodoo · 09/02/2020 09:06

It’s exceedingly blowy and rainy here in South Wales. Think doggo may have a slightly shorter walk today!

happymummy12345 · 09/02/2020 09:08

Dh and I were up until about 4.30 this morning (not because of the weather though). Was bad wind and rain all night and still bad now. He was due at work for 9, he was going to walk but thankfully decided to take a taxi instead as the rain is bad. As for ds d cat and I it's a day in and hope it's died down a bit by 4-5 as dh should finish around 5. (Unhappy cat as he does like going out).

iem0128 · 09/02/2020 09:08

Just a bit of wind rushes. Apple tree got toppled. A plastic light weight ottoman toppled again. No rain. Not so bad .. At least, I wasn't being blown off my feet, as it did last year. There is no chill in the winds!

Think Met Office over eggs it a bit just in case people complain, "Why didn't you warn us of these?"

iem0128 · 09/02/2020 09:09

I'm just outside East London!

RoseDog · 09/02/2020 09:10

Wind and rain just started in Dundee but nothing unusual about it yet!

iem0128 · 09/02/2020 09:11

TheVanguardSix : That sounds serious. Please stay on - garage roof and fences. My fences were blown off last year. I hardly repaired it. We covered all possible gaps around the doors to the garage. This is my major concern. I hope it stays intact before I sell the house.

Inkythemouse · 09/02/2020 09:11

I'm in North Yorkshire (Harrogate) the garden is flooding and the wind is def getting stronger.
Apparently Harlow Carr and Fountains Abbey have closed today because of safety concerns.

paulinespeaksmanylanguages · 09/02/2020 09:12

@NemophilistRebel
Take heart because as they say-In Hertfordshire, Hurricanes Hardly Ever happen!
That phrase was widely used in elocution lessons.

TroysMammy · 09/02/2020 09:13

I'm in Swansea and Mumbles Head wind speed has been recorded as 72mph. I want to go to the Vintage Fair in the town centre today but it might be a little hairy in my matiz Sad.

Armi · 09/02/2020 09:13

@iem0128 It hasn’t been ‘over-egged’ where I am. I’m looking at my garden which now contains a considerable chunk of my roof.

Whiskeylover45 · 09/02/2020 09:14

Bit windy, and rain is on and off in newcastle. Not too bad where we are though the sky looks horrible. Wind was bad last night, and earlier in the week.

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 09/02/2020 09:14

It's windy and rainy in Aberdeenshire but nothing out of the ordinary so far. We're right on top of a hill so get the worst of it

Dontlickthetrolley · 09/02/2020 09:14

Just to warn people Ciara hasn't really started yet and most what we are getting is a pre-storm. It's coming in from Blackpool direction and due to hit the Midlands around mid day. Gusts up to 90 mph on the coast and 65 mph in land. Where I am we're currently at about 30 mph, it will get worse.

Ellapaella · 09/02/2020 09:14

I'm on the coast near Newcastle and it's not particularly windy here.

DavetheCat2001 · 09/02/2020 09:15

It hasn't hit its peak yet, so not over egged
