I'm feeling kinda guilty not sure why has they are my children after all, but i forgot to set my alarm last night, didn't wake up till 9 which I might add never happens at the weekend lol. So I thought fuck it give kids a day off.. Please tell me I am not the only one who has done this. They don't have days off unless ill but that's rare. I feel strangely guilty 🤔🤔

Has op been back to let us know how her day panned out or did she fling a grenade in then run? Grin

It's been a while since the OP posted.

Should someone go and check she's not still asleep?

It'll be a bugger though if she has managed to roll out of bed and take her DC to school, only to find the teachers couldn't be bothered to get up and school's shut.

(I know: wouldn't happen. But only because most other people can manage to get up even when they don't feel like it. And the rest of us rely on that)

HappydaysArehere · 05/02/2020 09:27

Try not to do this again. Children miss out on the continuity of school happenings and in the longer term it instils bad habits. After all if mum doesn’t think there is anything wrong in having a day off why shouldn’t I bunk off.

Mittens030869 · 05/02/2020 09:30

I think it's the fact that she simply couldn't be bothered. It really isn't a good attitude to be passing on to her DD. My DDs go to school unless they're not well or have a hospital appointment. End of.

No harm done on this one occasion, but I don't think you should ever repeat it.

It’s also the sort of tone of the post that irritated a lot of people, the ‘ooops silly me’ and an almost smugness that basically she could actually just stop at home with her wains on a school/work day.
