Bra gate- how often do you wash yours?

So, I’m still in hospital bored out my mind , too much time to question what I do in life, and I saw a post yesterday about how many bras is reasonable as the OP had one bra but washed it daily. Then it made me think, how often are you supposed to wear a bra before washing it without it seeming like you’ve left it too long and are a disgusting human? Like for me personally , no judgment (🤣) I have goodness knows how many bras , perhaps 15, I definitely don’t wear them all, they’re different types, and since being pregnant most of them are useless anyway, but I can wear one for three days In a row before washing it if I’m wearing it for work, I may have even left one 4 days I’m not even sure who I am anymore...
I’ve never got sweaty around my breasts or armpits for some reason, so never really thought anything of it until now. I don’t change them every day like I do pants and socks , and never even thought about how long is too long - why has that never occurred to me ? I Change my pants twice daily obviously , and socks once as I don’t wear them at night, but bloody hell maybe I’m disgusting , three days before washing my Over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder? 🤦🏽‍♀️
Let me know what your judgment is-should I go confess my sins in Church when I leave hospital or is MN enough ?

@riotlady yes same here I wear it for work, or if I’m nipping out and then as soon as I’m home it’s off, especially since being pregnant I let them hang free as they’re too squished in my bras 😂

Weekly for me.

Yeahnah2020 · 02/02/2020 08:54

Daily. But only because I work in a hospital and sweat like a mofo everyday.

Northernsoullover · 02/02/2020 08:55

I have two which fit properly. I don't wash them very often Blush.

Lonecatwithkitten · 02/02/2020 08:58

Two days, but I have a really dirty job where I encounter body fluids on a regular basis and wrestle reluctant dogs and cats.

WanderingMilly · 02/02/2020 08:59

I change my bra every day. Anything which is next to the skin I change daily - bra, pants, socks, nightdresses. Underwear and nightwear basically.
But I sweat under the boobs rather than under the armpits for some reason, a 2nd day bra would not be very nice.

I remember my late MUM and her Bras, she died 15 years ago,at the age of 86, and she always had a very nice bust, bosom, as she called them, She had 7 bras, one for each day of the week, they were all white, and identical, and from Marks and Sparks. she took one off every night, and washed it in her sink, and got another one out for the next day etc.

She was not an oldie, going to the gym,or running marathons, she just used to go to the local shop every day,and do lots of knitting, but she had to have a fresh clean bra every day ha ha

Ginfordinner · 02/02/2020 09:07

Every 3 to 4 days. I'm too small to get under boob sweat.

TrotOnWillYou · 02/02/2020 09:14

Name change. Once or twice a week so long as they don’t smell. I change immediately after work as well.
(Also change pants twice a day I do have some standards!)

FernBritanica · 02/02/2020 09:18

I change my bra when I get home from work so I'll wash the work ones maybe twice a week but wear the comfy home one all week till I wash it at the weekend.

Am I gross?

Beautiful3 · 02/02/2020 09:19

I wash the bras I've been wearing that week with the weekly wash. My bras and knickers tend to break within 2 years. So I tend to throw the underwear out and buy ones every two years.

PonderTweek · 02/02/2020 09:28

Haha. I only have two bras that I wear (and maybe 2 ill-fitting backup bras that I never wear) and I wear one for a couple of days, and around midweek I start wearing the other one. I never thought I was disgusting. Grin

Deadposhtory · 02/02/2020 09:30

I wish my year 13 would go to the library.....

Deadposhtory · 02/02/2020 09:31

Sorry wrong thread!

BusterGonad · 02/02/2020 09:32

I have 4 bras which I rotate, I wish them out maybe every 2 to 3 weeks unless they smell. I don't like washing them too much as they are expensive due to big boobs.

Franticbutterfly · 02/02/2020 09:33

3 times (sometimes less) but I’m the least sweaty person in the world. I smell my tops and bras and don’t know if they’ve been worn and I’ve got a good sense of smell.

BabyofMine · 02/02/2020 09:39

I have bralette things that I wash after one wash, they get too sweaty to wear again. But since changing to Molke I can get three days out of them, I think because they hold my boobs in place better I don’t get as sweaty and hence as smelly. I only wear the bralettes at weekend now and have two Molkes for Mon-Fri (want more but am losing weight so don’t want to invest in loads as they may end up not fitting).

BaolFan · 02/02/2020 09:39

I have 5 really good bras (following the MN intervention!) and I wear them twice (unless I have been doing a lot of manual work and sweating, in which case it's once). They go into a bundle and I handwash them every other weekend (as weekend is bralette time).

Handwashing makes a huge difference to extending their life span - even the most delicate wash in the machine fucks the wires up.

BabyofMine · 02/02/2020 09:39

After one wear not wash.

onionface · 02/02/2020 09:41

I'll wear a bra for a week before washing it. If I was wearing polyester, foam filled bras I'd wash them more often. But cotton is breathable and airs nicely.
People wash clothes too much in general, probably because of the rise in synthetic fabrics.

Proper denim jeans only need to be washed every 6 months or so. Wool socks can go 4 or 5 wears.

stripeypillowcase · 02/02/2020 09:42

I have 4 bras that fit and change about 2 or 3 times a week.
they go in a net in a normal wash with all the other laundry.

user1493494961 · 02/02/2020 09:44

Not very often.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 02/02/2020 09:59

I wash mine after every wear (unless it's only been for an hour or two and then I'll save it for the next day.

I am very large chested though and I have a medical condition where even in winter I sweat like I've been doing a gym workout as my nervous system has a bezerk button and constantly over reacts

PrincessHoneysuckle · 02/02/2020 10:10

Once a week.I usually alternate 2 though.
