Bra gate- how often do you wash yours?

So, I’m still in hospital bored out my mind , too much time to question what I do in life, and I saw a post yesterday about how many bras is reasonable as the OP had one bra but washed it daily. Then it made me think, how often are you supposed to wear a bra before washing it without it seeming like you’ve left it too long and are a disgusting human? Like for me personally , no judgment (🤣) I have goodness knows how many bras , perhaps 15, I definitely don’t wear them all, they’re different types, and since being pregnant most of them are useless anyway, but I can wear one for three days In a row before washing it if I’m wearing it for work, I may have even left one 4 days I’m not even sure who I am anymore...
I’ve never got sweaty around my breasts or armpits for some reason, so never really thought anything of it until now. I don’t change them every day like I do pants and socks , and never even thought about how long is too long - why has that never occurred to me ? I Change my pants twice daily obviously , and socks once as I don’t wear them at night, but bloody hell maybe I’m disgusting , three days before washing my Over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder? 🤦🏽‍♀️
Let me know what your judgment is-should I go confess my sins in Church when I leave hospital or is MN enough ?

Every 24 hours - I wear the same one in bed I wear during the day

I have 20 bras the same

Urkiddingright · 02/02/2020 18:14

Every 2-3 days usually.

When I buy a bra I buy three pairs of Knickers to match, so I wear a bra three days then wash the whole set.

I buy most of my underwear sets in ASDA as they fit me well and are good value, I often get them in the sale a half price.

I'm nursing and also bought the bras listed in the first few weeks. Because I'm nursing (despite not many leaks) and I wear them at night as well, I wash daily as I want to be clean and my DS is literally eating out of that area so I'm extra vigilant and put a fresh one on in the morning and change it after my shower at night and sleep in a clean one too.

Very soft and you can buy a few packs of 3 to make the washing easier but I do DS's washing daily so just pop them in as well and they dry quickly too.

How do you all wash your bras?

kiaorasvetlana · 03/02/2020 06:20

Never....or once in a blue moon.

meandmylot · 03/02/2020 06:30

I'm the same as a pp multiple matching knickers per bra so if I wear the bra on consecutive days the max I'd do is 3. If it goes back in the drawer after each use it's find at least 4 days. I'm not a sweater either so they don't smell. Also asos has a good selection of maternity bras. If you try breastfeeding and decide to go for it it's worth getting several bras as you'll want to be changing them daily.

Daily and washed as delicates - they are near my underarms so must absorb sweat

BusterGonad · 03/02/2020 08:09

My bras don't actually touch my arm pits and would never get BO on them. I think a lot of women need to get measured up. It's the same when I read about women who suffer from wires coming out, they are obviously wearing the wrong size.

BusterGonad · 03/02/2020 08:10

GoldenCurtain in a delicates bag on a hand wash, low spin and low temp.

Mine never get BO, but I think it is because they are only a 32B - and yes, they are the right size. The bands on my bras aren't very wide. I think maybe large sizes have wider bands that come up into the armpit?

I never have the problem of wires coming out either, even though they always get machine washed. Again, I think this might be due to being a smaller size?

BusterGonad · 03/02/2020 10:38

I've googled bras and on all the photos the bands are way down from the armpits. I suppose everyone is different.

BusterGonad · 03/02/2020 10:39

*except braletts etc

Brefugee · 03/02/2020 10:41

for the first time in my life i have lots of bras. Enough for 2 a day for over a week. (what can i say - usually i have to go to places like Rigby & Peller but M&S have started stocking the ginormous ones so i can get 5 for the same price as one at R&P)

I wash bras once a week or so - on the 30 minute cycle in net bags. They last longer that way. (the saleswoman in R&P once told me you can was them in the shower… i've never tried it)

TAKESNOSHITSHIRLEY · 03/02/2020 17:10

i only have the 1 due to size(46 K/L) its the pull them in and up style(dont know what bra styles are called)

at home im in nightwear so dont wear one,it only goes on when i go out

i dont go out everyday so i can go days without putting it on

i hand wash it weekly but it gets hung up(its that big) on a hanger when not on and it gets fabrised

i dont sweat any way so it dont get sweaty or smelly
