I just don’t get the big deal about him? Don’t rate his movies at all and his personality is questionable also.

OP posts:
PontiacBandit · 02/02/2020 05:50

I feel the same about Tarantino.

I like Ragarok and what we do in the shadows, I've not seen his other stuff but I like him, Korg is one of my favourite characters in the MCU.

Harakeke · 02/02/2020 05:52

Why is his personality questionable?

Casino218 · 02/02/2020 05:54

No I think he's talented. However when you watch 'What we do in the Shadows' the film compared to the series you can see that the BBC certainly polished his writing and the performances were vastly improved. Are you talking about JoJo Rabbit? What exactly have you seen that you find shit?

Tashtegotoo · 02/02/2020 05:54

Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople are both great films.

spatchcock · 02/02/2020 06:07

He’s hugely talented. Have enjoyed almost everything he’s been in or done, right back to the wonderful Scarfies.

steff13 · 02/02/2020 06:11

I thought Jo Jo Rabbit was really excellent.

RiddleyW · 02/02/2020 06:14

Saying his personality is questionable sounds a bit mccarthyist.

florababy34 · 02/02/2020 06:17

What's wrong with his personality?

HeadSpin5 · 02/02/2020 06:18

Nope I really enjoy all his work. What We Do In The Shadows (film and tv series) is brilliant.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 02/02/2020 06:20

I like his work and he seems nice in the interviews I've seen. Pplease explain about his personality then?

steff13 · 02/02/2020 06:22

I don't know him personally, so I can't speak to his personality. He has good hair. 🤷😂

Whammy · 02/02/2020 06:22

I have really enjoyed all of his films 🤷‍♀️ Why do you think his personality is questionable?

Cegbee · 02/02/2020 06:23

I think he's brilliant and a top bloke

TeddyIsaHe · 02/02/2020 06:30

He’s incredibly talented. Maybe you can’t see the subtleties in his films? What’s his personality like?

3rdchristmaslucky · 02/02/2020 06:35

YABVU his work is great.

MaggieAndHopey · 02/02/2020 06:56

Haven't seen JoJo Rabbit but I love everything else he's done.

I always think it's funny when people start threads like these. Will it make you feel better if other people think he's shit too? You could maybe start a little club.

spatchcock · 02/02/2020 07:02

By the username I’m guessing OP is a Kiwi. Bit of tall poppyism going on I expect. An ugly trait.

isabellerossignol · 02/02/2020 07:03

I love his films, and I'm someone who generally gets bored within 15 minutes of a film starting.

Don't know him so can't comment on his personality. What is it about him that is suspect?

CurrynChips · 02/02/2020 09:26

Another here who really likes his work. But I agree with @PontiacBandit - not a fan of Tarantino (and he makes my skin crawl when I've seen him on chat shows)

Guineapigbridge · 02/02/2020 09:32

Nah he's great. Breath of fresh air.

Guineapigbridge · 02/02/2020 09:34

Boy is a wonderful film.

FourEyesGood · 02/02/2020 09:37

YABU. I loved What We Do in the Shadows and Thor:Ragnarok, so I tried Hunt for the Wilderpeople (it’s great) and Boy (it’s even better). I was really excited about Jojo Rabbit and it didn’t disappoint.

Wes Anderson used to be my favourite director, but I think I’m switching my allegiance to Waititi - his work is equally whimsical (in a good way), beautiful and funny, but with more diversity and stronger messages.

BorneoBabe · 02/02/2020 09:39

However when you watch 'What we do in the Shadows' the film compared to the series you can see that the BBC certainly polished his writing and the performances were vastly improved

Unless I've missed something, the BBC was not involved in the production of What We Do In The Shadows. It was commissioned by FX, an American network.

I don't think his work is shit, but it's definitely hit or miss. Ragnorak is one of the best films of the past decade, IMO. Jojo was meh.

TwoHeadedYellowBelliedHoleDig · 02/02/2020 09:47

Hunt for the Wilderpeople hits so many spots - it's funny, beautiful, heartbreaking, warming. Ragnarok is one of the best MCU films.

Chocpear · 02/02/2020 21:28

I have only watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople and thought it was a cracking film as previous poster said funny and heartwarming. Loved it.
