Anyone else think Taika Waititis work is shit?

I just don’t get the big deal about him? Don’t rate his movies at all and his personality is questionable also.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is genius. And What We Did In the Shadows was vintage. Loved Ragnarok too.

I think he's done bloody well to get to where he has in his field. And I like that he called out Aotearoa as being racist as fuck. We're always far too ready to evade acknowledging and minimise such unpleasant traits in our country (not just talking New Zealand here), and he made it bloody hard to do so.

Love his stuff. Cried v hard at Hunt for the Wilderpeople and also laughed a lot. Same with Jojo rabbit. I don’t feel manipulated with his films.
And the kid performances are always amazing.

Never heard of him then happened to see Jojo Rabbit - I’m a new fan! Love that he played Hitler too!

Sorry OP but YABU. Just because his work isn’t your cup of tea doesn’t mean his films are shit.

I love him. Ragnarok is by far the best MCU film. JoJo Rabbit was wonderful. I really liked Shadows. And I think he comes across extremely well in interviews. He’s great.

I've only seen Jojo Rabbit but haven't laughed out loud at a film like I did at that one. Fantastic film.

As a UK immigrant to NZ Taika's Poi E Thriller Haka in Boy makes me proud to be Kiwi.

I think he’s great and Eagle vs Shark is one of my favourite films
