Just been on the online version (I know, my own fault!), there was a story with a picture of a dog being barbequed alive on the newsfeed! wtaf?? I just can't un see it, thank God I didn't click on it, the image was enough, I can't fathom how anyone can photograph it and not do anything, and then for a paper to publish it words fail me, just bloody horrific and wrong, I've got palpitations now, total bastards

Could you maybe edit your title OP to reflect it contains distressing content?

I didn’t see the article but now I have an image in my head that won’t go away Sad

Lordfrontpaw · 31/01/2020 20:33

Where was that?

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/01/2020 20:39

People need to know this goes on, and the fur trade, animal testing of cosmetics, the cat meat trade, beating animals to train them to perform for money, cock fighting, eating live baby mice.

Animals in Asia is a charity that works to end these practices.

rockingthelook · 31/01/2020 20:41

How do I edit the title?

OP posts:
AnotherMonthAnotherName · 31/01/2020 20:42

Yes, people should know what goes on. They don't need graphic images on websites with no warning.
DM is always posting graphic or highly insensitive pictures, though.

AnotherMonthAnotherName · 31/01/2020 20:43

How do I edit the title?

Report your OP and ask them to edit the title.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 31/01/2020 20:43

So it's a low that they report on it but that it's done?

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 31/01/2020 20:43

but not that it's done

Bathroom12345 · 31/01/2020 20:43

It’s one of the many reasons I won’t ever go to China. They seem to be able to do whatever they like.

Thedogscollar · 31/01/2020 20:43

It's a loathsome newspaper and that's the polite versionAngry

Bluntness100 · 31/01/2020 20:46

Seriously? Why would you write that without warning? What's wrong with you?

AmelieTaylor · 31/01/2020 20:46

Fuckung Hell. Thanks for that image. are you any better than the DM?

I’ve reported your question about how to change the title in the hope they get there quicker.

We all know the DM are CUNTS, but the real villains here are the bastards that do this kind of thing.

(I don’t eat meat or fish before anyone starts on that)

theLadyofShallnot · 31/01/2020 20:48

I know people need to know it goes on. I know it goes on. It just caught me by surprise and it breaks my heart. Sorry.

rockingthelook · 31/01/2020 20:53

I am so sorry to you all for any distress, thank you for the edit Mumsnet, I am genuinely still in shock, I agree people need to know how much cruelty goes on, but God, I didn't need to see that photo without a warning

China lead the way in this disgusting trade let alone their plastic and carbon footprint. Where are the demos against their behaviour? Horrible, horrible link.

Chihaha · 31/01/2020 20:56

There was an actual video of a man eating live mice the other day, completely horrific.

Bathroom12345 · 31/01/2020 20:58

Tbh - it’s not the DM. They are reporting a vile trade. The Chinese need to hang their heads in shame. It’s meant to be delicacy apparently - ffs! What do they think it’s going to do for them ffs!

Tombliwho · 31/01/2020 20:59

Didn't even need to look to know it would be China.

Bathroom12345 · 31/01/2020 21:01

Tomb - I knew too...

leli · 31/01/2020 21:05

I saw the same image and it absolutely seared through me. I was asked to lecture in China. No way. The DM has probably done the right thing though, we should n what's going on.

leli · 31/01/2020 21:06

know

Allmyfavouritepeople · 31/01/2020 21:10

Just cried to my OH about it. Went on a self inflicted DM ban for a while. Checked it today for brexit and scrolled too far.
If it was reported on the news if would come with a 'some viewers may find this upsetting warning' and newspapers should be no different.
No other website I go on does it.

PhilSwagielka · 31/01/2020 21:11

They wouldn't be arsed if it was a dead child, I'm sure.

Bathroom12345 · 31/01/2020 21:11

China really doesn’t seem to give a toss what others think of them

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 31/01/2020 21:13

DM is vile, but in this instance it's the practice that's vile, not the reporting.
