AIBU just to refill her water bowl from the puddle outside rather than from the clean, fresh water tap? At least that way she might fucking drink it

Obviously the summer months may be hard but I could invest in a rain-catching device (of which the real word escapes me)

😂 mine does this too. Full dish of fresh tap water but insists on going outside to drink puddles...

Hahaha. Cats are insane. Only one of mine will drink fresh water in a dish. The other two would mew loudly at the taps until I turned them on for them to drink from or go out to a puddle. I got a cat water fountain in the end, I think they just like moving water.

My mum's cat will only drink rainwater from her big slate water tank outside the back door. Nothing else.

Ours will only drink out of the dog bowl We looked after a friends bengal, she would only drink running water, was a pain when you were brushing your teeth. Maybe fill a jug and let the water go stale lose the chemical smell.

Mine likes to drink from the toilet.... or the dog’s bowl

My cat will only drink water from a freshly poured glass, like a human. She was dehydrated and won't eat wet food so the little diva gets her own way. She drinks from the pond in the summer but it is too cold now for her delicate sensibilities

My old kitty likes to drink out of the stagnant fish pond (no fish in it).
She will only drink water out of a bowl with her paw and then tips the whole lot on the floor in a strop She's been doing this for years.

Apparently they can smell the chemicals in tap water.

Do you keep the water bowl next to the food? They sometimes have an instinct not to drink water that’s near food in case it’s contaminated. Other cats only want running water

I used to collect rain water in various Tupperware for my old cat!
New mummy and kitten seem to like tap water if served in a Bonne Maman jam jar!!! Discovered when they went for our glasses of water.
The foster carer they were with gave them bottled water from costco!
I have seen them lick rain from the side of plant pots so cats must just love rain water!

Don't do it. She's taking the piss, she actually prefers evian but it would amuse her to see you scoop water from a puddle. Cats are dicks

Mine prefers the drops left after my morning shower. We have compromised: I put a bowl in the shower, we both pretend it's shower water he drinks it.

Mine prefers to stick her head inside MY water glass and drink mine.

Mine sleeps in the bathroom sink and only drinks water from the small drips from the sink tap. I must clean that sink 8times a day because of muddy footprints

What is it with cats and minging puddles?! Mine cannot be enticed to drink anything else. I even tried bottled water (nope) and I even tried buying bottled water with a sports cap and dribbling it into her mouth like a water fountain. She just looked at me like I was the stupidest person she had ever seen in her life.

The dirtier the puddle the more she likes it. She ate a slug once. The other day I caught her licking the recycling information sticker on the wheelie bin. It had a corner coming loose and she was trying to eat it

Could be worse, my puppy eats dog poo including his own. Courgette grated on his food doesn't work anymore.

I have a glass of tap water by my bed, my bastard cat will run upstairs in the morning and try to drink from my glass. Every bloody day!
Sometimes he succeeds, other days I'm quick to move it.

Yeah I can’t keep a glass of water by the bed either. One of them will straight up tip it over with a paw! A reusable water bottle with a lid.

Mine spend so much time drinking out of my water glass that I always do them their own glass.

They like glass bowls because they can see through the sides. I got some little stubby glasses from ikea designed for whisky on the rocks type drinks and use them for the cat water glass on the side table next to my chair.

They also have bowls in the garden with murky rainwater which they like too.

Mine climbs onto the conservatory and leans down to drink out of the gutter. Failing that, the drain cover 🤮 glad it's not just him!

My 2 will only drink filtered water

Mine will only drink tap water in a glass served on the table or manky puddle water!

Mine loved Christmas as she could reach in and drink the Christmas tree water. Failing that she loves to lick my legs when I get out of the shower, she's weird.
