Well, yes, you bet someone has thought about that: the people who make cars will have done. If everyone has to buy a new car every five years, they're going to be laughing all the way to the bank.

Yes it’s already been thought about. Most batteries are warranted for 8/10 years. You can then get the battery replaced. The old one can be used for other uses where capacity isn’t quite as Critical - like storage of power in solar power stations.

Lithium mining is incredibly damaging. Really, electric cars are not the solution. Electric trains, trams, trolleybuses, and of course pedal cycles are the solution.

Hahaha I'm here! Its been peaceful as B was first home and got her spot. D is in his spot, F seems to have forgotten how to drive and C continues to not care about white paint and is in X. Roadworks are completed and the signs have gone but we still have a Strange Car disturbing the parking rules.

Ridiculous expensive to buy out right. So everyone has them on contract. Then exchange every 5 years or whatever. Which coincides with them starting to go wrong.

The main issue is with infrastructure of charging points away from the home and to make points at home affordable

I've seen A go out and knock on her window when she's sitting in her car, or otherwise try to get her attention but she ignores him.

So c is in a disabled bay?

Does the disabled bay have a blue disabled parking sign? If not I think it's ok to park in if not in use by a blue badge holder.

dontr think thats how they work or all the ones round here would have everyone parking in them none have signs

Erm. The street is full and there's no room for C! B is parked in a way that makes X unusable, as Strange Car is right on the other side of it and it's a small space. She's in 1 really but her car is the other way so her door is still level with her front door, and D is quite far back too. Mr and Mrs K are squashed right up behind Strange Car.

Who's are the strange cars? Did they appear around the same time as the K's did? Perhaps they put it there for entertainment value ha

I'm starting to think they belong to the next street and people are using their back doors and parking there as it's more convenient (or they are mumsnetters).
